Ridgewood’s Pedestrian Mall will be closed on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5

Ridgewood NJ, The Village of Ridgewood’s Pedestrian Mall has been an enormous success. Starting on June 20, the central business district streets have been closed every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 10 pm allowing shoppers and diners to enjoy being outdoors in a safe, fun environment. Musicians are scattered throughout the mall during the dinner hours, and there are live bands in Van Neste Park every Sat and Sun evening. Other types of entertainment are sprinkled in through the day, such as puppeteers and The Ridgewood Irish Dancers, who perform on the square every Sunday at 4 pm.

Bergen County Grant Programs to Provide Financial Relief for Municipalities and Small Businesses Impacted by COVID-19 Pandemic

Hackensack NJ,  Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco announces that the County of Bergen will launch a grant program to provide relief for municipalities straddled with expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic and small businesses financially impacted by the government ordered shutdown. The programs, which utilize CARES Act relief funds, will provide direct reimbursement to municipalities for costs associated with health officials, law enforcement, personal protective equipment (PPE) and social distancing improvements.  “Non-essential” businesses that were forced to close as a measure to stop the spread of COVID-19 can receive up to $10,000 in financial relief to cover rent, property mortgage, and utilities expenses.
