Vandalism Reported At Orchard and Willard Schools in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, at Monday nights Ridgewood Board of Education meeting the Ridgewood Board of Education conducted an overview of vandalism occuring by trespassers at two of our schools, Orchard and Willard, this summer was reviewed. A child has been injured after falling on broken glass with the most recent incident.

The holiday season often coincides with an increase in burglary activity. These crimes are committed while homeowners leave for social events or travel for vacation. Alert Neighbor’s Call Leads to the Arrest of 2 Would-be Car Thieves in Hawthorne

Hawthorne NJ, this morning around 0600,the Hawthorne Police received a call reporting two males attempting to steal a car from a driveway on Kenwood Road. An alert resident observed them and called 911 immediately. Upon responding to the area, officers observed one suspect leave the area in a vehicle while the second fled on foot. While one officer stopped the vehicle, other officers pursued the suspect on foot through the rear yards of the homes in the area. Both suspects, from Newark, were apprehended and charged accordingly. Additionally, they were in possession of both heroin and cocaine. Great job by the squad this morning! Make sure if you see something suspicious, call IMMEDIATELY!!

Ridgewood NJ, in the second major incident today suspicious activity of an undisclosed nature taking place at the Ridgewood Bus Terminal caught the attention of Ridgewood PD Patrol Officer Jack Knudsen on Wednesday morning, 10/18. Following questioning, an adult male was taken into custody by Knudsen and Patrol Officer Joseph Dibenedetto when a computer check revealed at least one (1) active arrest warrant was associated with the man’s name and driver’s license number. The prisoner was transported to Ridgewood PD headquarters for processing
