TEANECK, NJ – In a year defined by split-second decisions and life-saving courage, the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps (TVAC) recently gathered to honor the incredible “CPR Saves” and heroic acts that defined 2025.

From an off-duty EMT saving a teenager at summer camp to a roadside rescue on Route 4, the annual awards dinner on February 9 served as a powerful reminder of the thin line between tragedy and hope.

Friday Morning Crash Near Riverside Square in Hackensack Sends Two to Hackensack University Medical Center

Hackensack NJ, City of Hackensack Fire officials reported that Friday morning at approximately 9am City of Hackensack Engine 5, Rescue 1 and Deputy 3 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with rollover at Route 4 West and Hackensack Avenue.

Fire Fighters Rescue Occupant in Teaneck Apartment Fire

Teaneck NJ, on January 2nd, members of the Teaneck Fire Department 2nd Platoon responded to 34 State Street, on a reported fire on the 5th floor, with a possible occupant still inside. First arriving units were able to confirm no occupants were in the apartment.
Because of the high life safety risk, Englewood Fire and City of Hackensack Fire Department Ladders were requested to the scene. Members put the aerial to the roof to assist with ventilating the top floor fire. Englewood Fire Truck 2 and Car 4 operated for approximately one hour.

911 Call Results in Bergen SWAT Team response to Single Family Home in Teaneck

Teaneck NJ, A Sunday afternoon, 02/16, 911 telephone caller who advised Teaneck Police that someone was in his home trying to shoot him, resulted in a full Bergen County SWAT Team response to a single family home located in the 200 block of Churchill Road, Teaneck. Nearby homes were evacuated and portions of several local street were closed as SWAT Team members operated. SWAT Team operations were still in progress as of early Sunday evening. Two (2) Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps units were placed on standby at the scene.
