Ridgewood NJ, the Valley Home Care (VHC) team was the only home health organization in Bergen and Passaic Counties to receive a five-star patient satisfaction rating on an overall quality indicator in the most recent Home Health Care Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) survey dated July 2016 to June 2017. The HHCAHPS survey is administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and contains a variety of questions pertaining to patient care and patient-provider communication. VHC’s five-star rating is based upon its patients providing high scores (9 or 10 out of 10) on the survey’s overall satisfaction question. We are so proud of this accomplishment!
Ridgewood NJ, a mother posted the story of her son involved in a hit and run in Ridgewood , this is not the first time the Ridgewood blog has reported and event like this .
“Who’s the driver that hit my son and left the scene? My 14 year old son was hit by a blue Honda four door sedan – dark hair woman driver mid 50’s between Ridgewood Ave and Irving Street today at 7:30 pm. The woman rolled down her window to ask if he was ok. Before my son could even response back as he was checking the damage of his bike, she left the scene. I’m beyond livid that someone wouldn’t even get out of the car to check to see if he’s okay.”

She is mean and nasty. She is self serving and does favors for friends
She ruined a neighborhood Park by allowing her friends business to go there. Made serious usage changes without consulting neighbors.
Healthbarn is a private for profit business owned by a NYC resident. Classmate of Roberta, friend to Nancy Bigos and Janet ( Roberta’s other friend)
Roberta had NO regard for tax payers…keep her out. Do not vote for anyone she supports. They will be as nasty and rude as she is and the 3 amigos.
If these candidates get in watch out your quiet neighborhood could host a nursery school in the Home next door, a camp all summer long and holidays even a massage parlor. Who knows. Laws get changed if Roberta and the 3 amigos have a buddy that needs a place to run a business and maybe they will disguise it as a partnership with Ridgewood ( yet Ridgewood does not get ANY of the profits) all Ridgewood gets is below market rent!! That is a tenant/ landlord relationship NOT a partnership!!
The State of NJ ranks Ridgewood High School as 83 out of the 385 NJ high schools. Apologies for being off by 1 in the original post (was counting the “header row” by mistake)
.
Lets see how bad Ridgewood #83 ranking really is…
. Neighboring Glen Rock was ranked #13
(the top twelve are specialized “academies” and vocational schools which have academic standards for acceptance)
. Here’s some other (local) schools that are ranked higher than Ridgewood:
.
#20 – Pascack Hills (Pascack Valley)
#25 – Northern Valley – Demarest
#28 – Tenafly
#29 – Mahwah
#45 – Northern Valley – Old Tappan
#46 – Pascack Valley
#48 – River Dell
#52 – Indian Hills
#55 – Emerson
#56 – Fair Lawn
#60 – Northern Highlands
#61 – Fort Lee
#72 – Waldwick
#73 – New Milford
#76 – Bergenfield
#82 – Ramapo
.
Then Ridgewood at #83
.
But at least we beat out Dumont (ranked #84)
.
.
Embarassing.
.
But let’s approve the $110 Million budget.
It’s money well spent.
We’ll keep deluding ourselves that we have great schools.
It’s all part of the “Tradition of Excellence”
Ridgewood NJ, S.H.A.R.E., Inc. is excited to be celebrating Nancy Petrie’s 100th birthday at the Unitarian Society located at 113 Cottage Place in Ridgewood, New Jersey. The special celebration will be in honor of S.H.A.R.E. resident, Nancy Petrie.
On Sunday, April 15th, 2018, the Unitarian Society will welcome Nancy’s friends, family and the community. Some of Nancy’s watercolor paintings will be on display as well.
Nancy Petrie is a well-known member of the Unitarian Society and many other groups such as the North Jersey English Country Dancers. Over the years, many of Ridgewood (and surrounding town’s) residents have had the pleasure of meeting Nancy through her social activities. She has also had her beautiful watercolor paintings shown at various events and spaces. On behalf of Ms. Petrie, S.H.A.R.E. will be collecting canned and boxed goods to be donated to the Center for Food Action in Mahwah. (Donations are welcomed, but not mandatory.)
Ridgewood NJ , On Thursday, April 5, the Ridgewood High School Bands will perform their annual Spring Concert. The concert, which will be held at West Side Presbyterian Church, begins at 7:30 PM and admission is free. This concert will feature the school’s three curricular bands – the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble – and will feature a varied, exciting program.
The Symphonic Band, under the direction of John Luckenbill and Jeffrey Haas, will begin the concert with William Owens’ celebratory overture Spring River Fantasy. Regenesis, a programmatic work by John Higgins depicting the events surrounding the 1980 eruption of Mount Saint Helens, follows in the program, and John N. Klohr’s famous Billboard March closes their portion of the program.
The RHS Concert Band, also led by Luckenbill and Haas, will continue the program by opening with Robert W. Smith’s By Loch and Mountain, a dramatic overture with a Celtic feel. Out of the Shadows, a work by Michael Sweeney based upon the Welsh folk song The Ash Grove is next on the program, followed by John Philip Sousa’s popular march, El Capitan. Finally, under the baton of Jeffrey Haas, the RHS Wind Ensemble will perform Mark Camphouse’s exciting Symphonic Fanfare, an exuberant opener with expansive and lyrical lines that juxtapose with majestic and energetic sections. Next on the program is Sean O’Loughlin’s three movement work, Unforgotten Friends, which was commissioned by the RHS Bands in 2005 as a post-9/11 tribute intended to not only remind the listener of loved ones lost, but also to honor those who perform selfless act each day. The Wind Ensemble will conclude the program by performing Leonard bernstein’s comedic political satire, Slava!
The Ridgewood High School Band Program is Bergen County’s largest, comprised of more than 230 students who participate in no fewer than 15 varied musical ensembles. The curricular bands, marching band, jazz ensembles, chamb
What part of the budget (none?) is going towards improving the actual ACADEMIC QUALITY of Ridgewood schools?
.
Are the feckless superintendent and RHS principal doing anything to improve these numbers?
. Ridgewood DID NOT make “The 50 highest scoring schools in NJ’s new school ranking system” RHS is ranked 84 out of 386 in NJ High Schools (not even top 20%)
Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Board of Education has approved the preliminary 2018-2019 school budget. Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police report on March 27th, a Stevens Avenue resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters to report a criminal attempt. The victim reported a social media account was accessed without authorization and money was demanded or the account would be deleted. The victim was advised not to send money and to contact Facebook.com to report the incident.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police report that on March 23rd, an Arrow Lane resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters to report a theft in the past. The resident reported an unknown actor took jewelry from the residence between 3/7/18 and 3/17/18. The victim reported she is in the process of selling her home and reported numerous people have entered the residence between the above dates. The jewelry is valued at approximately $37,000. The victim only requested the incident documented at this time. Please note that the photo formerly appearing above article regarding the theft does not represent the house on Arrow Lane nor is Gilsenan & Company involved with that property.
The reason it’s important to keep her name, face, and exploits out there is that the candidates she is endorsing (including holding a candidates’ coffee at her home, attended by the usual gang of thieves) are very likely to have pledged to restore her as village manager–the position from which she resigned. That alone would be a good enough reason not to vote for Janice W. or Alexandra H. There are plenty of others, but this one may be paramount. Remember the full-page ad (or ads) stating that the MAIN ISSUE in the last council election was to keep Sonenfeld as village manager? That was so partisan that I couldn’t believe they were admitting it. It was the main issue for Aronsohn & Co. because she did their bidding. It certainly was not the main issue for residents (unless it happened).
