Ridgewood NJ, 11 homes on hillcrest are still out of power and a transformer is leaking petroleum on the roadway BUT town resources are being used to install a generator for Healthbarn?
2 town trucks are there now! Several tax payers have left the area because of the situation yet the same people who had to leave, their taxes are paying for this generator to run for a business and the man power and gas it will take to keep it running.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with a two (2) vehicle “T-Bone” crash at the intersection of Kenilworth Road and Spring Avenue, Ridgewood on Friday morning, 03/09. Ridgewood Fire Department and EMS personnel also responded. One (1) driver was transported to The Valley Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.

Ridgewood NJ, it is being reported by several news outlets that Hawes Elementary School reported and intruder sometime last week .The incident happened around 8pm last Wednesday evening. The man was not inside the school but was on school property and walked up Stevens.
The intruder or trespasser was described as a 26 year old from Newark who appeared drugged out or under the influence of something. It has been reported that the man in question asked directions , was given them , left and the police were immediately called.
The Ridgewood Police responded ,noticed incoherent behavior and the 26-year-old Newark man was taken into custody and charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and then transported to New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus for treatment.
The original reports omitted the incident happened at night after school hours . The incident has many on edge over school safety ,but appears to be nothing more than another drug related incident.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Train Station Historic district includes Garber and Wilsey Square and the the entire train station plaza ie the parking lot and is known as the Ridgewood central railroad Historic district .
Ridgewood would need an DEP approval to add additional parking at the Historic Train Station. The Village engineer Christopher Rutishauser had already submitted the application to the DEP and that application was challenged at the Council Meeting on Wednesday Night by Cynthia Halaby claiming it held many erroneous assertions .
In recent discussions the Village Council has been challenged by several Village committees and residents of the loss of green space at the train station . These are the same individuals and committees who supported clear cutting 5 acres of trees at Schedler Park.
Amazing how when a pota-potty sat in the train station median for months in 2015 no one uttered a peep about its visibility at the Ridgewood Train Station Historic district..

Currently the Village is hopeful to have the road remain open to one-way traffic with continued restrictions to vehicle size/weight. This remains a jurisdictional matter and Village efforts have been to avoid complete closure of this important connecting roadway. Importantly, as noted, “meritorious” objections received will warrant submission to the DOT’s Exception Committee to determine further action. Questions and/or objections concerning this matter should be directed to Barbara.Foran@dot.nj.gov. I would suggest copying on correspondence the following individuals: sknudsen@ridgewoodnj.net, hmailander@ridgewoodnj.net, and crutishauser@ridgewoodnj.net. Communications may also include support for the one-way compromise /solution.
As stated in DOT correspondence, Ridgewood will be required to adopt an ordinance to legally change Glenwood Road traffic to one-way; Village ordinances are subject to proper public notice and a public hearing. The ordinance introduction and public hearing will be added to a future Village Council agenda. Mark Levin: Reader says not so fast Mark
Mark was shown where he made a mistake in stating in a footnote that delegates from Vermont belatedly attended the constitutional convention in Philadelphia in 1787. In reality, Vermont was not even a state until 1791. Before that it was a disputed territory between New Hampshire and New York. So Vermonters were not asked to nor were they qualified to attend the Philadelphia convention. He gave his challenger no credit for reading his book carefully and bringing this non-trivial mistake to his attention. He then refused to sign the book on the page where the footnote appeared and showed distinct signs of impatience and annoyance when he opened the front of the book and began to sign it.
At this point, Mark was challenged about Cruz’s eligiblity. But the challenge did not happen as Mark said it did. The challenger asked this: “Under what possible definition of the term natural-born Citizen does your friend Ted Cruz qualify to be president?” At this same time the challenger placed an annotated copy of an earlier TheRidgewoodBlog posting repeating CNN’s recent article questioning Cruz’s eligibility, and was pointing at the document. After cursing at the challenger , Mark replied: “I never said he was a natural-born Citizen.”, upon which his challenger said: “But you must be a natural-born Citizen to be President!”. Mark then said: “No you don’t!”, and the challenger said “Yes, you do. Read the Constitution.” Levin was showing no signs of changing his tune. The challenger then turned around and left the booksigning. There was no time during any of this dialogue for Mark to ruminate on the challenger’s motivations or talk about Canada or Cruz’s mother or anything like what he said on his Radio program

St Patricks Day is for thinking about our Saint as well as a time to think of loved ones across the water.
So, why is it celebrated on March 17th? One theory is that that is the day that St. Patrick died. Since the holiday began in Ireland, it is believed that as the Irish spread out around the world, they took with them their history and celebrations. The biggest observance of all is, of course, in Ireland. With the exception of restaurants and pubs, almost all businesses close on March 17th. Being a religious holiday as well, many Irish attend mass, where March 17th is the traditional day for offering prayers for missionaries worldwide before the serious celebrating begins.
