Waldwick NJ, Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department Rescue 642 was dispatched for an extrication at an moving vehicle crash at the intersection of Wyckoff and Crescent. Upon arrival of the Rescue and Engine 631 the driver of the vehicle self extricated herself. Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department members secured both vehicles and spread speedi-Dri while waiting on the tow.
Waldwick NJ, The adult male driver of a Mini Cooper was seriously injured in a Friday afternoon, 09/18 crash at the intersection of Route 17 southbound and Summit Avenue in Waldwick. Waldwick Police, Waldwick Fire Department, and ALS & BLS units from The Valley Hospital rushed to aid the victim. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage. Police at the scene did not reveal why the driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a retaining wall.
Waldwick NJ, No injuries were reported in conjunction with a multiple alarm Monday night, 09/07, house fire on Vine Street in Waldwick. However, the single family home was mostly gutted despite the efforts of Waldwick Fire Department and numerous mutual aid fire companies. The fire was reported via a 911 telephone call. Waldwick Police was first to arrive at the scene and reported a “fully involved house fire.”
Waldwick NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of KENNETH BROWN (DOB: 11/04/1980; single; janitor) of 128 Ward Street, Paterson, NJ on two counts of Sexual Assault. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Waldwick Police Department under the direction of Chief Mark Messner.
Waldwick NJ, the Waldwick Fire Department was dispatched to live wires down and on fire at Rt 17 and Grove St. The situation caused the highway to be shutdown in both directions. In addition there was a snapped utility pole with a transformer up against a parked car and a nearby tree had also fell blocking Hudson Ave. Waldwick Fire Department stayed on scene for several hours assisting the DOT in repairing the damaged highway which occurred from the wires burning in the road. Engine 631 stretched two lines to cool the road surface. At the time the Waldwick Fire Department cautioned all residents not to approach downed wires as they maybe live and you run the possibility of electrocution.
Waldwick NJ, No injuries were reported in connection with an early Monday afternoon, 06/01, vehicle vs. structure crash at 30A Franklin Turnpike, Waldwick. Waldwick Police and Waldwick Fire Department responded to the incident in which the adult female driver of a passenger vehicle accidentally crashed into a storefront. A building inspector assessed damage as minimal and permitted affected businesses to continue operating. The vehicle also sustained only minor damage and was driven from the scene.
Waldwick NJ, Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD) will significantly expand its COVID-19 testing effort with the addition of 46 no-charge testing sites, most of which will operate through its stores’ drive-through windows, beginning May 11, 2020. Rite Aid is also expanding COVID-19 testing criteria at all testing sites to include adults who are not exhibiting any symptoms of the virus, effective immediately in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.
Waldwick NJ, Waldwick Police, Waldwick EMS, Waldwick Fire Department, and hospital based ALS & BLS units responded to aid the victims of a Saturday evening, 03/28, single vehicle crash on Route 17 southbound at Summit Avenue, Waldwick. At least three (3) victims were transported to area hospitals; one (1) victim reportedly sustained critical injuries. Traffic on Route 17 southbound was restricted while emergency crews worked at the scene. The 4-door sedan involved in the crash apparently spun out on the wet roadway surface and crashed into a retaining wall of a nearby single family home. Firefighters had to extricate one (1) victim from the wrecked vehicle. A tow truck removed the heavily damaged sedan from the scene.
Waldwick NJ,An individual sustained life threatening injuries after reportedly being struck by a NJ Transit train in Waldwick late Monday evening, 01/27. The victim was transported by helicopter from the Waldwick Municipal Pool Parking Lot to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Waldwick Police, Waldwick EMS, Waldwick Fire, and NJ Transit Police responded to the incident. Ho-Ho-Kus Police and Midland Park Police provided on scene assistance. Waldwick NJ, all Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department units responded to a residential structure fire in a home on Lincoln Place. Chief Mike Ferrara arrived and found an active fire on the second floor. Chief Ferrara called for a 2nd alarm bringing Midland Park, HoHoKus, Saddle River, Wyckoff, Ramsey and Mahwah Fire Departments to the scene with Upper Saddle River Fire Department on standby. Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department units made an interior attack extinguishing the Fire very quickly. We would like to thank our mutual aid companies for their assistance.

Waldwick NJ, according to the Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department , on Thursday at approximately 10:30 a Waldwick Police officer on patrol on Franklin Turnpike spotted a dumpster on fire where the fire had extended to the structure. He had the Waldwick Fire dispatched to the scene. Chief Mike Ferrara was in command and ordered a two-out engine, with NORCON being activated and received a second alarm equivalent.
Waldwick NJ, This morning at midnight the Waldwick Fire Department was dispatched to a working structure fire at the Farmers Market shopping center on Wyckoff Avenue.

Waldwick NJ, the Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department, Rescue 642 and Squad 634 responded to a car that hit a utility pole on Franklin Turnpike yesterday afternoon. Firemen secured the vehicle and disconnect the battery. Both units then stood by till the arrival of PSE&G. One airbag was deployed and no reports of injury .
