Fair Lawn Police Department announces a pilot program for Borough residents to have their catalytic converters etched and registered

Fair Lawn NJ, the Fair Lawn Police Department recognizes catalytic converter thefts are on the rise. In an effort to help prevent theft and track the thieves and scrap yards in the event of a theft, the Fair Lawn Police Departmen announces a pilot program for Borough residents to have their catalytic converters etched and registered. We are surveying the communities’ level of interest in participating in this program. If sufficient interest is received, the program will move forward and dates will be scheduled. The process consists of an application of a high temperature tamper proof decal combined with acid etching of the vehicle’s catalytic converter(s). Motor Trike Crash Takes Out Traffic Light on West Century Road in Paramus

Paramus NJ, the adult male operator of a motor trike (a 3-wheeled motorcycle) sustained a serious leg injury during a Friday morning, 08/12, single vehicle crash in the 100 block of West Century Road in Paramus. A traffic light at the driveway entrance to The Frisch School and Country Club Plaza office complex was downed when the motor trike plowed into it. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Borough of Paramus Public Works Department employees began the process of repairing and re-erecting the downed traffic light shortly after the victim was removed from the scene by ambulance. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the scene.

Rochelle Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of ELIJAH BATTLE (DOB: 1/20/1997; single; unemployed) of Paterson, NJ and ANTHONY AGUILAR (DOB: 6/07/1998; single; currently incarcerated in the Bergen County Jail) on carjacking related charges. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad under the direction of Chief Jason Love, the Rochelle Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Dean Pinto, and the Maywood Police Department under the direction of Chief Terence Kenny.
