Montclair Starbucks Becomes 4th Store to Unionize in New Jersey

Montclair NJ is Ridgewood next , on Wednesday, Starbucks workers at the Montclair-Church Street location became the fourth store in New Jersey to unionize. They will be represented by Workers United, a collective of workers who have organized other Starbucks locations across the nation, including the Hopewell New Jersey store, the first to unionize in the Garden State.

U.S. Postal Service Announces Proposed Temporary Rate Increases for 2022 Peak Holiday Season

Producer Price Index Suggests Inflation Moderating Yet Still Remains Very High

Washington DC, the Producer Price Index for final demand fell 0.5 percent in July, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. This decline followed advances of 1.0 percent in June and 0.8 percent in May.

Falling Tree Crushed New Car in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, a 10-day old Volkswagen Tiguan, unoccupied and parked in a driveway, was crushed by a fallen tree in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue, Ridgewood late Tuesday evening, 08/09. The tree also caused moderate damage to a single family home when it fell. No injuries were reported by any the home’s occupants, who were able to return inside once it was deemed safe to do so by a team of Ridgewood firefighters. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Emergency Services also responded to the incident.

Washington DC, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) was unchanged in July on a seasonally adjusted basis after rising 1.3 percent in June, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 8.5 percent before seasonal adjustment.
