New Jersey Transit Police officers Rescue Injured Hawk at Newark Penn Station

Newark NJ, This morning, an observant commuter noticed an injured hawk hiding outside Newark Penn Station. The commuter alerted New Jersey Transit Police officers who quickly devised a rescue plan. The District 2 Officers worked together to ensure the hawk was safely contained without further injury to itself or others. They then transported the hawk to proper medical care.⁣

Glen Rock Police Dispatched to Residence Over Dispute with a Contractor

Glen Rock NJ, on Saturday March 27th at 11:18 a.m. Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to a residence on the 100 block of Rutland Road in response to an alleged altercation in progress. Upon arrival officers found that a 44-year-old Glen Rock man had become involved in a dispute with a contractor, a 41-year-old Linden man, over work done at the Glen Rock man’s home which was not to his satisfaction. The Glen Rock man subsequently refused to pay a remaining balance owned to the contractor. Both were advised that this was a civil matter, not a criminal matter, which would need to be resolved by filing a civil action at the Superior Court in Hackensack to resolve the issue of payment.

Trenton NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today applauded the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s issuance of a Notice of Intent (NOI) to advance Ocean Wind, Ørsted’s 1,100 MW offshore wind project 15 miles off the coast of New Jersey. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s NOI for Ocean Wind marks a critical step in the project’s federal review, one New Jersey has been eagerly awaiting. It is estimated that Ocean Wind could generate $1.17 billion in economic benefits for New Jersey and create thousands of good-paying union jobs over the life of the project.

Ridgewood NJ,  Opening Day is April 1st for Major League Baseball , all 30 will play in 15 games nationwide . According to the US Census , MLB has 29 teams spread across 25 metro areas in the United States and one in Canada. Four metros have two teams each:  the three largest — New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago — and No. 12 San Francisco. The 30th MLB team, Canada’s Toronto Blue Jays, is in a metro area with an estimated 6.3 million population, so would rank sixth if it were in United States.

Both the Yankees and Mets have away games for the home opener.

Beginning April 1 and running through the end of the month, the high visibility law enforcement initiative will target motorists who engage in dangerous distracted driving behaviors such as talking on hand-held cell phones and sending text messages while driving.

Hired in 2016, Ehrenburg’s steady and experienced leadership brought a level of professionalism and competence to city government that has benefitted all residents. Mayor John Labrosse has ordered that city flags will be flown at half mast in Ehrenburg’s honor and the City Council meeting scheduled for April 6th will be postponed to a later date.
