Americans Collectively Owe a Staggering $1.13 trillion on their Credit Cards

Ridgewood NJ, according to a recent report on household debt by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Americans collectively owe a staggering $1.13 trillion on their credit cards. This figure saw a notable increase of $50 billion, or approximately 5%, in the fourth quarter of 2023. Alarmingly, credit card delinquency rates also witnessed a surge, especially among younger millennials aged between 30 and 39, who are grappling with substantial student loan debt burdens.

Charges Upgraded in Fatal Teaneck Hit and Run

Teaneck NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the upgraded charges of a Bergen County Juvenile for vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Andrew McGurr.

Washiington DC, the recent Supreme Court ruling declaring race-based university admissions unconstitutional marks a significant turning point in the pursuit of a color-blind society. As we contemplate the implications of this decision, it is imperative that we consider what comes next. One area that warrants attention is the elimination of race-based considerations in procurement.
Unfortunately, in this realm, the Black community bears the brunt of blame, without reaping commensurate benefits.

Englewood Fire Rescues Women Trapped in Car

Englewood NJ, authorities in Englewood reported that a woman is unharmed after being trapped in her car, which partially went over an embankment on Saturday. The incident prompted a response from the police to a parking lot on Engle Street at approximately 2:20 p.m., according to a Facebook post from the Englewood Fire Department. The car was found hanging off a wall, pointed downward, and the front had broken a fence. Although the scene appeared dramatic in photos, Fire Chief Jeff Kaplan confirmed that the woman did not sustain major injuries.

Man Stabbed Near JoJo’s Bar & Grill Early Sunday Morning in Garfield

Garfield NJ, in the early hours of Sunday morning, Garfield police discovered a man stabbed in the vicinity of JoJo’s Bar & Grill, as reported by authorities. Responding to the incident at 131 Monroe St. around 12:45 a.m., police found a 31-year-old male with apparent stab wounds to his torso. Subsequently, the victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center. A collaborative investigation is currently underway, led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Garfield Police Department.

Student Stabbed at Hackensack High School

Hackensack NJ, one individual was apprehended after a student was stabbed with a kitchen knife at Hackensack High School on Monday morning, as confirmed by authorities. Responding to a reported stabbing at 8:15 a.m., Hackensack police found an 18-year-old male student who was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, the injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and the student was in stable condition later in the morning.
