River Edge NJ, River Crossing Concerts presents an all-day outdoors festival on June 4 from 12-5 pm with live music ranging from American jazz and ragtime to Afro-Latin salsa, from the rhythms of Brazilian Samba and Caribbean Reggae to the sparkling sounds of Irish bagpipes. Featuring violinist Ali Bello & The Sweet Wire Band,vocalist and songwriter Nicole Zuraitis, City Winds Trio, River Edge’s own Tri-County Irish War Pipe Band, and the black-led, all-women percussion ensemble Batalá New York, the festival will offer an immersive audience experience including open microphone, community games, arts & crafts.

Ridgewood NJ, according to Quantitative Easing Janet Yellen ,and her media supporters , the sky is falling and there’s one month left for Republicans to relent on their refusal to raise the debt limit (so the US can pay its existing bills) unless the White House meets their demands (future cuts that will likely slash climate, education and social funding). Now, it turns out there may only be seven days left. President Joe Biden invited top congressional leaders for a meeting on the matter, but fear in markets has been rising for some time now, with yields on Treasury bills for early June soaring. Democrats are already looking at some radical options to keep the world’s largest economy from defaulting.

Ridgewood NJ, the May 3rd Village Council agenda features a presentation on “Electric Vehicles for Village Department” . The state of New Jersey offers a series of incentives to promote of the adaption of of what it calls clean energy . According to the State , “New Jersey is leading the way on electric vehicle (EV) adoption on the East Coast. Governor Phil Murphy has set a goal of registering 330,000 EVs in New Jersey by 2025, which will reduce emissions from the transportation sector and help reach the goals of New Jersey’s Energy Master Plan and the Global Warming Response Act. The transportation sector accounts for 46% of the state’s net greenhouse gas emissions, making it the largest emissions source. ”

Leonia Fire Fighters Rescue Cat from the Roof of a Single Family Home

Leonia NJ, on April 30th  at 1:26PM Leonia Fire Department was dispatched to assist a resident who’s cat was stuck on the roof. Members of the Ladder Company , Lt Quinton, Ff Pawlick were able to bring the cat safely down and reunited her with her family. Units on scene Le-9, Le-8 and Ladder 1. No injuries reported . The cats name was not released to the press.

Ridgewood NJ, two (2) high end SUVs collided in the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and South Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood early Monday afternoon, 05/01. One (1) of the drivers sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene. Both vehicles were towed away. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire department responded to the incident. No word at the scene as to whether any crash related summonses were issued.
