Fair Lawn NJ, at 6:39 AM Saturday morning, Fair Lawn Fire Engine Companies 3 and 4 were dispatched to a car fire at the bottom of the exit ramp from 208 south and Plaza Road. Fair Lawn Battalion Chief Mike Salvini reported that there was a fully involved car fire. The members of Engine 3 and 4 quickly put out the fire. There were no injuries, but the car, a 1987 Porsche 928, was a total loss. All Fair Lawn units cleared the scene by 7:30 AM.

Saddle River Nj, Sunday morning Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department Truck 641 responded to a commercial occupancy on Boroline Road in Saddle River for smoke on three floors from unattended cooking kitchen fire. The Waldwick truck crew assisted in ventilation before being released by command. No injuries reported.
Upper Saddle River NJ , Saturday night around midnight, Upper Saddle River Fire Department responded to Route 17 South in the area of Pleasant Avenue near Jack Daniels for an overturned tractor trailer. The double tractor trailer ran up the grassy side of Rt 17 SB and rolled over blocking all lanes. The tractor trailer was blocking all lanes including both shoulders. Upper Saddle River Fire Department Members stood by while the tow uprighted and removed the vehicle. The incident was cleared without incident, injury, or spills.

Ridgewood NJ, it is unbelievable that Vagianos and Winograd are doing everything in their power to control the message, squash public comments, ignore the people who they are elected to serve. From censoring (hiding? blocking?) comments on their official Facebook pages, to trying to stop the display of signs at meetings, also cutting off public comments at meetings, stopping (or trying to) residents from naming council members by name, Winograd participating in a highly censored and controlled Facebook group, Vagianos stalling on legal OPRA request fulfillments – the list goes on and on. And Vagianos scolds everyone before public comments even commence – telling them that they have to be civil and so on. That is like yelling at your kids when they have not done anything wrong, just in case they MIGHT do something wrong. We are entitled to FREE AND OPEN speech as long as threats and vulgarity are not part of it. What are they thinking?

US officials have been coordinating talks to rescue First Republic, with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve said to be orchestrating meetings about throwing it a lifeline. But some of the biggest US banks, which have already contributed $30 billion in deposits to prop up First Republic, have balked at the prospect of throwing good money after bad.
