Ridgewood NJ, New Jersey experiences a disproportionate number of pedestrian injury crashes and fatalities compared to the nation as a whole. On Tuesday we notices somewhere north of 25 cars flying through the crosswalk Infront of the Ridgewood Library and Ridgewood Police Station with in a 10 minute period . Would have made a ticket bonanza for the Village .

Inflation Rose 0.5% in January Continues at an Annualized Rate of 6.4%

Washington DC, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose 0.5 percent in January on a seasonally adjusted basis, after increasing 0.1 percent in December, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 6.4 percent before seasonal adjustment.

Ridgewood NJ, Jamboree 2023 was a roaring success! The kind of success you only see in….Fairy Tales! A big thank you to the cast and crew, directors, producers, attendees, and volunteers who spent countless hours rehearsing and performing. This year’s grand total? Our Ridgewood Board of Education members were in attendance to applaud the more than $228,000 raised!

Glen Rock NJ, a local recycler who was told by workers at his local drop-off facility that they don’t accept Styrofoam went berserk and hurled the plastic foam at the staff . According to Borough Police Chief Dean Ackermann , a 69-year-old man, authorities said, sought to drop off Styrofoam Friday afternoon at the Glen Rock Recycling Center and became “irate” when he was told the site didn’t recycle foam.

Another Dead Whale Beached on the Jersey Shore

Manasquan NJ, another dead whale washed up off the shore of Manasquan, making the incident at least the ninth whale found dead on New York and New Jersey beaches .The Marine Mammal Stranding Center team is on the scene to try to determine what type of whale it was and what caused it to die. Around 20 whales have been found dead in the last few months along the entire East Coast. It has become an environmental concern.

Ridgewood NJ, in response to a resident’s concern regarding the need for additional Village Council studies of Schedler property development plans, Councilwoman Siobhan Winograd just wrote this on Facebook:  “ . . . we as a council of five cannot access our staff professionals independently.” Meaning, the Councilwoman is unhappy that she can’t question Village employees directly about Schedler. Our form of government doesn’t permit it. The Village Manager is the gatekeeper; it’s been that way for decades.

Ridgewood NJ, Abraham Lincoln was born in Hardin County, Kentucky, on February 12 in 1809. He lived for a time in Indiana before moving to Illinois. He worked on a farm, split rails for fences, worked in a store, was a captain in the Black Hawk War, and worked as a lawyer. He married Mary Todd and together they had four boys, only one of whom lived to maturity.
