Ridgewood NJ, A vote to go to BCIA is scheduled for this coming Wednesday. Our council members have expressed interest in voting for the bond in house without going to BCIA if a reasonable design / size is proposed that fits the lot, but the council majority is willing to push ahead with BCIA vote without finalizing the design first.

  1. I thought on Jan 6th, it was agreed to go back to the architect and ask for a smaller design, which FITs THE LOT. Why are we voting for BCIA funding if council majority is willing to bond it right here in Ridgewood, if that smaller design is being worked on?

  2. When/where is this presentation to the BCIA? We should be there in force

  3. Its a top secret 8:54 only the 3 Amigos know and they are not telling.

  4. It’s not top secret.
They are going to bond the money with the BCIA because they don’t have the 4-1 vote to bond directly.
The added cost doesn’t matter to them..

  5. We all know that Ridgewood Taxpayer. My Top Secret comment was for 8:45 “When/where is this presentation to the BCIA? ” Unless you know when/where is this presentation to the BCIA? is going to be.

  6. Ridgewood Taxpayer – they do have 4 votes in the council if they choose to work with all the council members.

Councilman Mike voted to introduce the bond ordinance – and requested that by the time of final vote, lets plan the revenue stream from walker recommendations and lets inform the CBD about the changes. He had only put those conditions – (i) finalize which of the various options suggested by walker will we use (ii) inform the affected party of those changes. He was willing to vote for the bond if those two suggestions were worked on. The Mayor & the Deputy Mayor ignored those requests. They had the 4th vote if they tried to work with councilman Sedon. There is a county level / NJ transit level hidden agenda to go with BCIA.

Also, on Jan 6th Councilwoman Knudson voted for introducing the BCIA ordinance – with the hope that we will work on a new design that FITS the Hudson Street lot and which doesn’t go higher than the Mt. Carmel Church. If the council majority choose to work with her on a better / reasonable design option, then they don’t have to go to BCIA.

  7. Maybe they’ll agree to a small footprint as long as the garage can be 10 stories high.

  8. Once again, the Council majority is trying to rush a construction agenda item through before any opposition can organize. Look for them to rush the “comprehensive impact studies” on the high density housing question through too. That vote will be scheduled immediately after the results are released so that the minimum number of people will have read them beforehand.

Apparently they only listen to rooms full of people with signs so let’s give them what they want.

  9. It is not secret. They want out of town commuters to have access to the lot and arohnson wants a position in state government. Mango jam, art of motion?? Hello?? You will not see any open spots for customers as the lot will be filled by 8 with commuters.

  10. i’m 8:54…please don’t comment if you don’t know what’s going on.

They have to go to the BCIA to petition for the money next. That will be a public meeting and the freeholders have to vote on it. My question for anyone that might know or be able to find out is again: where/when is that meeting?

  11. Wed. 7:30 village hall

  12. Bergen County Improvement Authority meetings are held at 1 PM on the first Thursday of each month throughout this year in Room 460 (The Learning Center), One Bergen County Plaza, Hackensack.
