US Sees Record Deceleration in Home Prices

Ridgewood NJ, Home prices are still higher than they were a year ago, but gains are rapidly decelerating at the fastest pace on record. Prices in August were 13% higher nationally compared with August 2021, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Index. That is down from a 15.6% annual gain in the previous month. The 2.6% difference in those monthly comparisons is the largest in the history of the index, which was launched in 1987, meaning price gains are decelerating at a record pace

“Feed the Frontlines”, to start another phase of operation thanks to the receipt of a new $1 million NJEDA grant

Ridgewood NJ, Feed the Frontlines, a collaborative initiative supported by the Healthbarn Foundation, the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce, and the Bergen County Food Security Task Force, will soon be able to start another phase of operation thanks to the receipt of a new $1 million NJEDA grant to the Healthbarn Foundation! This is an incredible program where local restaurants provide nutritious hot meals to community pantries across Bergen County. This program is truly one of the best examples of county government, non-profit organizations, and small business teaming up to tackle an important issue in our community. To date, over 300,000 meals have been delivered pantries, providing the dignity of a hot meal from a local restaurant to families in need.

Ridgewood  NJ, Senator Michael Testa today joined with hundreds of state and local employees in criticizing the Murphy Administration for their inaction to protect workers from as much as a 24% increase in their healthcare insurance costs. The State Health Benefits Commission is scheduled to hold a vote on the plan on Wednesday.
