Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Mayor comments on Rock Road and Maple Ave road work ,”Please know that, for whatever it is worth, I share the frustration of residents who found it difficult or impossible to get to Rock Road at any time over the past few days while the milling was being done.
I was told that there would be access at all times though it might be difficult. My wife had to go to Fair Lawn to get to a Bank of America.
I find this unacceptable and can only assure you that I’m doing whatever I can to help the situation going forward and have asked the Borough employees who are coordinating the effort to help in our efforts to make this better going forward.”

Kean Bill Creating ‘Gateway Development Corporation’ to Build New Rail Tunnels to Manhattan

Trenton NJ, Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean’s bipartisan legislation to establish the ‘Gateway Development Corporation’ has been signed into law. The commission will oversee planning, funding and construction of new rail tunnels and other projects that will double trans-Hudson rail capacity and provide one-seat rides to Manhattan on all NJ Transit lines.

“Constructing the Gateway Tunnel is critical to serving the growing number of New Jersey commuters, as well as creating jobs and securing long-term economic growth,” said Kean (R-21). “The Gateway Program will increase NJ Transit rail capacity to and from New York Penn Station by 70,000 riders a day and enable NJ Transit to provide direct one-seat rides to Manhattan, including on the Raritan Valley Line. I will continue to be a vocal advocate to ensure New Jerseyans have a dependable, affordable, and safe mass-transit service.”

Hudson County Federation of Republican Women Hold Successful Launch Party!

Jersey City NJ, The Hudson County Federation of Republican Women held a successful launch party June 29, Saturday night at Dorrian’s Red Hand in Jersey City. Dedicated to empowering female voices and growing women’s leadership, the launch party celebrated the newly chartered Hudson County chapter of the New Jersey Federation of Republican Women (NJFRW). The launch party was attended by women and men from across the county as well as NJ Congressional District 5 candidate Dana DiRisio, US Senate hopeful Natalie Rivera, and Gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli. GOP leaders in attendance included Hoboken Municipal Committee Chairman Chris Carbine, Hispanic Republicans of North Jersey Herminio Mendoza, NJ GOP State Committeeman from Hudson County Joshua Sotomayor Einstein, NJFRW Region 2 Vice President Celeste Homaychak, and NJFRW President Angelique Scholl.

The Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration Committee is an all volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the tradition of Bergen County’s largest Independence Day Celebration. There are many opportunities to volunteer to “Support the Tradition.” If you are interested in joining the committee or volunteering on the day of the event. Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to:

Fundraising
Community outreach/public relations
Vendor coordinator
Performer coordinator
Parade marshals
Gate attendants for the fireworks at Vet’s Field

ICE three-day operation, of 84 families tested 18 family units were DNA identified as fraudulent

illegal immigration and undocumented immigrants1

WASHINGTON DC, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) awarded Friday a 10-month contract for technical equipment and supplies to continue identifying fraudulent familial relationship claims made by individuals entering or attempting to enter the United States using rapid DNA testing.

The agency issued a firm-fixed-price contract to Bode Cellmark Forensics Inc., with a total value of $5.2 million. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract will provide ICE with an indefinite quantity of supplies and services until the procurement effort concludes next April.

Cooperation between ICE, local law enforcement makes for safer communities

Ridgewood NJ, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) relies upon the cooperation of local law enforcement officials to expeditiously remove dangerous criminals from our communities. ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations’ (ERO) mission is to identify, arrest and remove aliens who present a danger to national security or are a risk to public safety.

There is an inherent increase in risk to personnel and bystanders when ICE officers and agents must go out into the community to proactively locate these previously detained criminal aliens. ICE commends our local law enforcement colleagues who work to minimize that risk by cooperating with ICE to apprehend criminal aliens at the time of their release from local custody.

Ghost of Aronsohn Administration Still Haunts Ridgewood

“Funny – this was suggested by the Aronsohn administration. “If you want to have your opinion heard, run for office”. Suggesting that only those on the dais get to air their point of view. Seems that Mr. Voigt subscribes to this idea as well. I don’t know Mr. Kim and I don’t always agree with him, but his opinions are generally well researched and presented in a civil way. Seems like we need more of that not less.”

OLMC Participates National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry

Ridgewood NJ, on Saturday, several OLMC parishioners attended a five hour training at the Archdiocesan Youth Retreat Center in Kearny. OLMC is one of twelve parishes in the country (yes, country) to be asked by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry to participate in a new pilot program for accompanying young people ages 15 through 25 in areas of faith.

The committee from OLMC will work together for the next eighteen months and will be developing a program to take place in our parish in early 2020. Stay tuned for more information in September!

Thank you to Tom East of the Center for Ministry Development for being our trainer today and for being the project’s overall coordinator.

Ridgewood NJ, just to clear up a few misconceptions the Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration is organized by the Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration, Inc., an all-volunteer, non-profit community group.

All aspects of this annual celebration including fireworks, bands, evening performers, insurance, police and fire personnel are funded by voluntary contributions from local businesses and individuals.

That is the way it has always been , always not just this year but as long as we can remember and that is the early 1960’s.

So get those chairs ready and support the tradition .

Paramus NJ, Stew Leonard, Jr. of Stew Leonard’s Wines and Spirits will host a major “Mexican Fiesta” after President Donald Trump struck an agreement with the Government of Mexico to avoid tariffs which would skyrocket costs of tequila and goods imported from Mexico. Since tariffs will be held not be placed on imported goods from Mexico, Stew Leonard’s Wine and Spirts shops in Connecticut and New Jersey will host a celebration for residents, patrons and tequila lovers with a margarita and tequila tasting.

Stew Leonard’s Wine and Spirits stores located in Clifton, Paramus and Springfield, NJ as well as in Norwalk, Danbury, and Newington, Conn. will commemorate the day that the tariffs were supposed to go into effect with a tequila tasting party on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 p.m.
