Whippany NJ, Again, New Jersey Transit has let down their riders by cancelling over 20 trains last night. Alerts stated that all of the cancellations were because of a lack of engineer availability. The problems of NJ Transit today are ones Jay Webber worked to stop years ago. In 2011, the Legislature and Governor Christie passed legislation that required all new public employees to live in New Jersey. Jay was one of only a handful of lawmakers to vote against the bill. Just a few years later, many people, including Governor Phil Murphy, believe this legislation has resulted in an engineer and staffing shortage that has led to many of NJ Transit’s train cancellations and delays.

Hackensack NJ, the sudden resignation of Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino has opened a can of worms for Bergen County Democrats .
In the suit, which was filed in April in state Superior Court in Hackensack, Omid Bayati, the former director, claimed Sheriff Michael Saudino fired him earlier this year after Bayati uncovered inappropriate vendor deals made by Phil Lisk, a former IT director.
The suit also said Bayati objected in December to the county’s plan to fund the Sheriff’s Office with $7.5 million in federal money it expected for housing detainees for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. The move, which Bayati believed broke state law, was intended to keep the budget flat during County Executive James Tedesco’s reelection campaign, the suit said.
Bayati’s suit claims Saudino and the county breached his contract and violated both his civil rights and New Jersey’s Conscientious Employee Protection Act, which shields whistleblowers. He is suing for compensatory damages, attorneys’ fees, interest, emotional distress and punitive damages, the suit said

River Vale NJ, Holly Schepisi New Jersey State Assemblywoman for District 39 ,Currently, New Jersey has a total of 391,428 vacant housing units, according to Census data, with the highest concentration in Newark. These numbers are staggering particularly as we build hundreds of thousands additional units of court imposed housing in New Jersey. Why aren’t we converting even a fraction of these homes into affordable housing rather than building on every last remaining parcel? What is wrong with this State?
