This spirited, family-focused day of activities includes a 10K, 5K, the Ridgewood YMCA Kid’s Fun Run, Competitive Mile and a one-mile Community Run. It is also home to the Kessler Foundation Wheelchair 10K, which attracts some of the world’s fastest wheelchair athletes.

NJ State Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips Joins Up with the Ridgewood YMCA and Social Services Association Hosting a Food Drive on Friday

Ridgewood NJ, NJ State Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips in partnership with the Ridgewood YMCA and Social Services Association is hosting a food drive on Friday, June 23 from 9:30am-12pm. There will be two drop off locations – one at the Ridgewood YMCA at 112 Oak Street and one at Assemblyman DePhillips’ legislative office at 201 Franklin Avenue in Midland Park. There is also an option to donate to the food drive online up until next Friday.

DelVecchio will begin this multi-day venture at High Point State Park in Sussex County and make his way to New Jersey’s southernmost tip in Cape May.

Ex-Ridgewood YMCA Camp Bernie Counselor Pleads Guilty To Three Counts of Sexual Assault

Ridgewood NJ, in November ,Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson announced that a Hunterdon County Grand Jury returned a seven-count indictment on November 3, 2022, charging a camp counselor for the sexual assault of three children under the age of 13. Joshua F. Daranijo, 24, of Levittown, PA, was indicted for three counts of second-degree sexual assault, three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child (possession of child pornography). In August 2022, an investigation revealed that Mr. Daranijo had sexual contact with three victims under the age of 13 while employed as a camp counselor at Camp Bernie in Lebanon Township. Despite having been indicted, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Ridgewood Maroons Swim Team Keeps Winning Streak Alive with Victories Over River Dell

Ridgewood NJ, the Maroons Swim Team extended their winning streak in the pool with victories against River Dell for both the boys and girls Monday afternoon at the Ridgewood YMCA. The boys won 117-53 and the girls 106-64, with both teams running the table across all events – sprint, endurance and relays included.

Ridgewood NJ, in a July 16 email to parents, Ridgewood YMCA President and CEO Ernest Lamour said authorities were notified and the staff member was escorted off the premises of Camp Bernie and no longer has contact with any children. Telling parents to contact him or Julie Jester, the branch executive director, if a child reported any contact or behavior considered inappropriate.
