Looks like the town truck is at my neighbor’s house to take down an ash tree.
What a production !
Anyone know what happened to all of the trees at the end of Wyndenmere Ave.? Someone cut down every single tree along the street east of Walthery Ave. and it is NOT pretty. It is absolutely horrendous what was done.
Shame on all town officials that are letting this tree massacre in RW. People who just move in and have no clue, the first thing they do is cut 60-70year old trees because the “arborist” of a tree company told them that the tree is sick or it may hit their house. Some complain to town that the sidewalk slab is being damaged by roots and town gladly takes massive trees out living a big hole and a whole area without shade. Then PSEG crews who casually take a ride around and maim trees at will. No governance of the village trees whatsoever. We are fast turning into Hawthorne or Fair Lawn. Check those towns and watch how little big trees they have. Trees have always been a beauty in RW, now they are considered enemies and this is hurting badly this town. I bet 100% of those who kill these trees are environmental warriors. Can’t fix stupid.
Guys these ash borers, lantern flies and other pests that hitched a ride here from Asia on wood pallets are serious sh*t. Doesn’t anybody remember the decimation of Dutch elm disease? Where I grew up there were beautiful tall Elm trees arching over the street. Then one summer all the trees died and our street was just a long row of stumps. Hit the town like a wave. The freak show pruning by PSE&G doesn’t help, town is going to look pretty different if bad wave of these pests hit.
Go down Abbey Court. It was a massacre!
Well at least we’re going to have Less leaves,
The took down a very large tree in front of the high school. The trunk was by the road and no sign of rot. This other issue being raised, can you see the ash holes, or do you have to depend upon a tree surgeon?
Somebody owes big time to Downes. I think I know who.
Took the town 3+ hours to remove an ash tree yesterday.
Sounded like the battle of Britain out there!
