Ridgewood NJ, the Conservancy for Ridgewood Public Lands and Green Ridgewood are pleased to once again host the “Daffodil Festival and Earth Day Fair” together on Sunday, April 23, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. This fun family event takes place in Memorial Park at Van Neste Square, located along East Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ. The theme this year highlights the recent Master Plan and addresses areas of flood remediation, open space, and park possibilities, green building ideas, local health topics, our drinking water, trees, native plants, and new recycling concepts. It showcases the importance of sustainability and how the community should work together to promote the village becoming more sustainable and conscientious.

Plans for the festival include many interactive eco-themed activities. Learn about local government progress, discover what green challenges are on the horizon, and find out how you can contribute to a more sustainable community. Plans for the special day already include a petting zoo, a recycling magician, musical entertainment from the Blue Plate Special, and activities for children. Many vendors will also attend; specializing in a variety of interesting products and services, educational displays and programs, demonstrations, and crafts. Always a highlight is the Daffy Dog Parade which is to begin at 12:30 pm. All leashed dogs and their owners are welcome to dress in costume and join the celebration, with prizes to be awarded. Registration for the parade begins at noon. Join us at this year’s event, as a sponsor, vendor, social service agency, local organization, or green entity, this educational and fun-filled event.
