These people purporting to having their children make “their own” statements need to better consider the long term impact of having their children make public fools of themselves. Remember how awkward we all felt when that kid stood up at the council meeting and stammered and fumbled his way through his parents speech for him as he told the adults on the dais that they were on the take? Where were his parents?? That will require years of deep therapy to overcome for sure.
Redshirting is the practice of postponing entrance into kindergarten of age-eligible children in order to allow extra time for socioemotional, intellectual, or physical growth. This occurs most frequently where children’s birthdays are so close to the cut-off dates that they are very likely to be among the youngest in their kindergarten class. A gifted athlete will always shine. Parents hold back because they think that one more year will make their kid a gifted athlete. Doesn’t work that way.
A ridgewood parent held his son back because the boy was small. Got news for them, dad is small too. One year won’t make him taller.
I have heard of parents holding back in 8th grade. Manipulating the system. And yes, taxpayers pay for the red shirting. One year 2 eighth grade best friends were magically held back at the expense of taxpayers. I don’t know if the gamble paid off. Never saw the names in the sports pages.
Do you think all day K will stop this problem? It is just another gift for a minority of taxpayers. Taxes are the gift that keep on giving.

Ridgewood NJ, Josh Gottheimer is covering up allegations about a court case where he was charged with aggressively intimidating and assaulting a woman. His campaign spin machine is intentionally misleading the press using carefully parsed phrases to obscure the truth.
Josh Gottheimer has dismissed his assault of this woman as “frivolous.” If that’s the case, why won’t he just release the settlement? Instead, his campaign is simply using political spin to obfuscate reality.
Josh Gottheimer claims to stand for women, but as is so often the case with Clinton cronies, it’s clear that his actions don’t match his words.

In the VIP section of what the Republican party planned as an election night celebration in 2012, big donors including Paul Singer watched the votes trickle in to determine whether Mitt Romney would unseat Barack Obama as US president.
A lesser known pair at the event — hedge fund manager Bob Mercer and his daughter Rebekah — had high hopes but it soon became clear Mr Romney was losing. When Fox News called Ohio for Mr Obama, top Romney operatives still insisted they had a chance. Republican strategist Karl Rove disputed the Ohio call on Fox — in vain.
“That was a moment of clarity for Rebekah Mercer,” said a person close to the family and to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. That night, he said, she realised that the cottage industry of consultants, donors and members of the media were all “phoney”.
“They’ve [squandered] $600m, $700m and we have nothing to show for it. She looked around, and she thought they were all fools, the whole lot of them.”

Thousands of the dead remain on New Jersey’s active voting rolls with a handful of votes cast in their names over the years, an Asbury Park Press investigation found, but all were likely due to clerical errors rather than fraud.
No election outcomes were changed, even in local races, the Press’ review of votes over the last decade in five of the larger counties in the state.
This week, GOP presidential candidate Donald J. Trump claimed that the upcoming Nov. 8 election is “rigged” and that there would be “large-scale voting fraud.” He pointed to one study that stated the voting rolls across the country were populated with 1.8 million “dead voters.”
Yet the idea that the dead could change elections on Nov. 8 remains highly unlikely, considering the vast number of votes cast in each election. And Trump has offered no proof that any fraudulent votes have been cast in past elections by the dead. Even GOP party members have said that there is no basis for a claim that the election will be fixed at the ballot box.
To find New Jersey’s dead on the voting rolls, the Press matched the 2016 voting records with the Social Security Master Death Index – the most comprehensive list of the deceased in the nation. It limited the search to voters still considered “active” but who died in 2011 or before. Name, dates of birth and hometowns were used to further narrow the search so common names would not be confused across both databases.
Media Pile-On Tries to Discredit, Unseat NJ Republican by Smearing Oath Keepers as The Democrats and their media amplifiers get their cover from a New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness “analysis,” claiming: The militia movement is decentralized, but it has two large followings—the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters. Both have members who justify the use of violence to counter perceived threats or violations to the US Constitution.
Media Pile-On Tries to Discredit, Unseat NJ Republican by Smearing Oath Keepers as Terrorists
“The truth?” a political attack ad for Democrat New Jersey Congressional challenger and former Bill Clinton speechwriter Josh Gottheimer against incumbent Republican Scott Garrett asks. “Newspapers just caught Garrett at a fund-raiser with the leader of a home-grown terrorist militia group.”
A Clinton-backer promising truth should be all the red flags we need.
The “terrorist militia group”? That would be Oath Keepers, assuming you can believe those newspapers, which appear to be doing everything they can to sway the electorate into accepting a political narrative that folds under minimal scrutiny. Witness recent headlines:
“Republican Chairman of Wall Street Committee Held Fundraiser with Official from ‘Domestic Terrorist’ Group,” Joshua Green of Bloomberg Business Week “reports.” (Yes, that Bloomberg.)
“Garrett event promoter tied to extremists,” NorthJersey.com weighs in. “Forget Wall Street banksters. Scott Garrett has new friends, on a terror list,” NJ.com echoes and embellishes.
Sensing political opportunity and more headlines, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg has called on Gov. Chris Christie to “denounce Garrett for his ties to the domestic terror organization” and on New Jersey’s attorney general to investigate if “Garrett violated New Jersey law, adding “In the wake of homegrown terror attacks – like the ones in Elizabeth, New York, and Seaside Park – the citizens of New Jersey deserve to know the full extent of Congressman Garrett’s connections to this terrorist organization.”
Yes, that’s Loretta Weinberg of “Confiscate, confiscate, confiscate” notoriety.
As an aside, it’s curious that Weinberg was referring to Islamist “domestic terror” acts with the principle suspect being one of those “refugees” Democrats are bound and determined to seed and embed throughout the Republic. Any connection to Oath Keepers was left (purposely) unstated, because there is none, and because the agenda here is to destroy them.
Which makes it fair to ask what the Democrat politicians and their “news media” publicists are talking about, and what else they’ve gotten wrong in their ceaseless, agenda-driven mission to conflate, smear, misinform and confuse. The answer is pretty much everything.

Regardless of who is your chosen – or least favorite – presidential candidate, independent minds should be concerned about the latest revelations in the news media’s unseemly relationships with government and political actors. While there are many responsible journalists working today, inside documents and leaks have exposed serious lapses constituting the most far-reaching scandal our industry has known. It’s our very own Newsgate.
Compromised reporting has always existed as a result of covert collaborations between reporters and political officials—Democrats and Republicans alike. For example, in my new book out next year, The Smear, I’ll report on instances of improper collusion that surfaced during the Bush administration. The most recent available evidence is heavy on Democrat-ties due to the nature of the available documents and leaks.
It can be argued that some individual accounts can be rationalized and are not serious breaches of ethics. But taken as a whole, it’s easy to see how we as journalists have done a poor job protecting ourselves from being co-opted by organized interests, often ones that are paid and politically-motivated. Whether we realize it or not, they’ve figured out how to exploit the media and use us to publish their propaganda. It implies a broad and growing trend that has seriously undermined the credibility of the news industry.
Opinion reporters and those who work for obviously ideological news groups are entitled to publish party propaganda. It’s one matter to provide viewpoint journalism. But it’s quite another for us to act as a tool of any interest, publishing narratives or talking points upon suggestion or demand, without disclosing we’ve done just that.

Every week this month, Donald Trump has shattered his previous records for generating Facebook conversation, and last week users generated more than 307 million likes, comments, shares and posts about him. The prior week, Trump had 253 million Facebook interactions, and the week before that, he had 220 million, according to weekly data provided by Facebook.
By comparison, Hillary Clinton also hit her all-time high last week with 206 million interactions on Facebook. It was the first time she broke 200 million interactions.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – State election officials said Tuesday they have seen no evidence of voter fraud and are not concerned the system is compromised despite unsubstantiated claims by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump that balloting in the U.S. is rigged.
“I am a Republican, and I have 1,000 percent faith in the New Jersey election system,” Hunterdon County Clerk Mary Melfi said.
Phyllis Pearl, the Camden County superintendent of elections for nearly 15 years, said she has “never had problems with voter fraud.”
“As an election official, I take it personally. I’m here to maintain integrity of elections for voters and for all candidates regardless of party,” said Pearl, who was appointed by former Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine.

As founder of the Satanic Temple of Seattle, she’s under pressure from national satanic headquarters — located in the Colonial witch trials city of Salem, Mass. — to launch a counter-strike strike against grade school Christianity by opening an after-school Satan Club.
“I think many people have the misunderstanding that we are some kind of tongue-in-cheek troll group,” said Starr, 44, a Harvard grad who sometimes dresses in church robes and, when circumstances demand, paints her lips and part of her face black.
“But in reality we are a very serious religion, with our own shared narrative, culture and symbols, a code of ethics — our Seven Tenets — and worship in the form of activism.”

They don’t hold their kids back because they are young, small or not ready.
They hold them back because they want their kid to be the oldest, largest, and most socially and athletically dominant child in their class. They want to make sure their kid is always the Louisville Slugger, and never the ball.
Nothing like setting your kid up to hit their peak in life sometime in middle school!
The teachers are pushing for it because their union sees full-day K as a boondoggle and a chance to have more full-time REA members who will push for above 2% wage increases, and additional cuts to healthcare and pension contributions in 2018 when the new contract expires. It’s all a REA/NJEA plot. Has NOTHING to do with our kids. Also remember, it’s not just extra salaries for all-day K… its pensions, platinum healthcare, tenure, etc. It’s a bit like how the police union vehemently defends the RPD’s “extra duty” practice for PSE&G and Verizon as no added cost to rate payers and taxpayers… of course it shows up in your monthly statement and in the RPD budget for both fueling and depreciating their vehicles. Really folks, when the union wants it, it’s BAD for taxpayers.
