Tentative Tax Agreement Reached to Fund NJ Transit

Ridgewood NJ, New Jersey has reached a tentative agreement with its most profitable companies to temporarily increase taxes in order to fund NJ Transit. Under this plan, the 600 corporations in the state that earn at least $10 million annually will pay a 2.5% tax on all earnings for the next five years.

FBI: Unpaid Road Toll SMiShing Scams Hits Tri-state Area

NJ Turnpike Authority: Text message scam targets New Jersey tollpayers

Ridgewood NJ, the FBI released a public service announcement warning of an uptick in unpaid road toll SMiShing scams. Since the scams started in early March 2024, over 2,000 complaints have been made to the FBI from at least three states, and it appears to be moving from state to state, including New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. On April 12, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority issued a statement alerting drivers that the scam had begun to target drivers throughout the state.
