Teterboro NJ, the Bergen County Animal shelter opened in 1979, the Bergen County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center (BCAS) is responsible for Animal Control and related services for 49 towns in Bergen and Hudson Counties.  Located at 100 United Lane in Teterboro, NJ, BCAS has an active network of Rescues, Volunteers, Kitten Foster Families, and Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) colonies to support the employees and animals in our care.  The Shelter earned its No-Kill designation under the guidelines of the Asilmar Accords in 2015.

Citizens Launches Seventh Annual Small Business Community Champion Award Contest

Providence RI, Citizens bank has opened its annual Small Business Community Champion Award Contest, which will again recognize the positive contributions small businesses make within their communities. Now in its seventh year, the contest will award $10,000 each to 30 small businesses across Citizens’ footprint, including 10 minority-owned and 10 women-owned businesses. This year, for the first time, Citizens will also set aside five of its 30 awards exclusively for veteran-owned businesses along with five other qualifying businesses. The contest is open until 5 p.m. ET on Feb. 1, 2024.

This special promotion offer is in addition to the cost-saving program, which provides a 25-percent discount off the already discounted monthly passes when purchased on the NJ TRANSIT mobile app, and is back by popular demand beginning with February passes for students traveling to and from the campuses of participating regional colleges and universities. Ridgewood NJ, Village of Ridgewood Residents are required to clear snow and ice on abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after the storm has passed. CBD sidewalk must be kept clear during business hours and completely cleared by 9 AM the following morning. Please remember that children are walking to schools and bus stops. Residents with corner properties are asked to provide pedestrian crossing access.

Mahwah NJ, in the course of the most recent police recruit class, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office (BCPO) was notified by the Police Training Commission (PTC) that they had received information regarding alleged rule violations occurring at the Bergen County Police Academy (Academy). The Academy is a unit of the County of Bergen’s Law and Public Safety Institute and operates as a partnership between the County of Bergen, the BCPO, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office. The BCPO is responsible for all law enforcement training occurring at the Academy, and it is our responsibility to ensure that our police recruits receive the highest quality training.

In response to this heartbreaking incident, the Josephson family established the #WHATSMYNAME Foundation, dedicated to promoting essential ride service safety education. Hackensack NJ, after mounting election failures the pressure continues to build on BCRO Chairman Jack Zisa to resign .  The Save Jersey Blog is reporting that , “The hard-charging LD38 GOP ticket fell short of its goal last week by about 5,000 votes, but two of its candidates think the campaign may need to continue. This time, saving the long-declining BCRO from itself may be the new aim. Save Jersey has learned that retired Bergen deli tycoon Barry Wilkes and businesswoman Micheline Attieh are actively considering a run for BCRO chair and vice chair, respectively, ahead of next year’s chairman’s election.”
