New Jersey Lawmakers Announce State Grants to Speed up Transportation Projects in Bergen and Essex Counties

NJ Transit Police Nab Wanted Man on Easter Sunday at Newark Penn Station

Newark NJ,  on Easter Sunday, New Jersey Transit Police Officers Brian Grise and Mark Schmidt were conducting a uniformed patrol at Newark Penn Station. They recognized a man wanted by Newark Police moving through the main concourse. The man was a suspect in a violent stabbing that occurred on Broad Street in early March. The alert officers recognized the man from a TRAK flyer Newark Police Department distributed following the incident.
To protect the commuting public and the community, Officers Grise and Schmidt immediately approached, positively identified, and apprehended the man without incident. New Jersey Transit Police remain alert around the clock…even on the holidays.

Congestion Tax Estimated to Generate $3.4 Billion/Year — Three Times NY’s Legally Mandated $1 Billion Target

Englewood Cliffs NJ, after doing nothing to stop New York’s Congestion tax on New Jersey commuters U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) released a new Congressional Report on New York’s proposed Congestion Tax. It’s based on a detailed study and analysis of the MTA’s announcement this past December with the specifics of their pricing scheme. The Congestion Tax will increase commuter costs, congestion, and cancer-causing pollution in New Jersey and the outer boroughs. Gottheimer also requested a meeting with MTA Chairman Janno Lieber to discuss the findings.

NJ Transit to Sell Stuffed Bull to Raise Funds for Ricardo the Texas Long Horn the Wandered onto the Tracks at Newark Penn Station

Newark NJ, on Thursday December 14th, a Texas longhorn steer captured the hearts of people throughout the tri-state area and animal lovers everywhere. The bull, named Ricardo, wandered onto the train tracks at Newark Penn Station while police officers and animal rescue workers attempted to safely corral him.

Ricardo was safely captured and transported to Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue in Sussex County where he was seen by a veterinarian and is now resting comfortably.
