Toll Hike Vote Called “Unconscionable”

Trenton NJ, New Jersey Turnpike Authority voted to increase tolls on the Garden State Parkway and the New jersey Turn Pike .The Parkway and Turnpike increases were both approved by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, which manages the highways, in a 7-0 vote during a remotely-held Wednesday meeting. It followed three hours of public comment from many who oppose the increase.

Three NJ State Troopers Help Deliver Baby on the New Jersey Turnpike

Monroe Township NJ, Yesterday, three New Jersey State Troopers assisted in the delivery of a baby on the New Jersey Turnpike in Monroe Township, Middlesex County.
On Saturday, May 16, at approximately 10:05 a.m., Troopers Robert Murray, Pierre Noel, and Marcin Ziobron, of Troop “D” Cranbury Station, responded to a medical assist at Interchange 8A on the Turnpike where a woman who was nine months pregnant was in active labor.

COVID-19 testing will be available daily for all NJ Transit Employees

East Rutherford NJ, beginning next week, COVID-19 testing will be available daily in East Rutherford to all NJ TRANSIT employees. NJ TRANSIT employees will be accepted for appointment-only testing at the site which opened on April 13 and is currently geared toward first responders and frontline healthcare workers. Online registration access for NJ TRANSIT employees will be available beginning on Sunday, May 3. NJ TRANSIT is also working to expand access to similar testing sites in central and south Jersey.

NJ Transit Updates for New Years Eve and Day

Ridgewood NJ,On Monday, December 30, trains will operate on a modified weekday schedule with certain morning peak period trains cancelled and additional mid-to-late morning trains operating on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines. Rail customers are encouraged to visit njtransit.com and check rail timetables for details and travel before 9 a.m. on these days, if possible, when ridership is lighter.  Buses and light rail lines will operate on a weekday schedule. Select PABT bus routes will have more frequent service operating inbound to PABT on some lines during the late morning hours and outbound from PABT during the early and late evening hours. Ridgewood NJ, Federal Transit Administration rated NJ Transit  the worst in the nation, racking up the most breakdowns of any transit system during 2018.NJ Transit retook the terrible train “crown” from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, known by locals as the “T” which had the most breakdowns in 2017 and in 2016, according to Federal Transit Administration data released Monday.

Glen Rock NJ, The New Jersey Transit Police Department’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM), together with additional law enforcement and emergency response partners, conducted a training exercise on Saturday, November 2nd at the Glen Rock [Main Line] Station. The exercise began at 8am and continues until approximately 1pm. During this time, a large presence of law enforcement and other first responders were on site.

NEW JERSEY TRANSIT POLICE TO CONDUCT EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILL ON GLEN ROCK MAINLINE STATION

Glen Rock NJ, The New Jersey Transit Police Department’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM), together with local, county, state and federal partners, will conduct a training exercise on Saturday, November 2nd at Glen Rock Main Line station beginning at 8 a.m.

The drill will simulate a mass casualty incident and will take approximately four hours to complete. This is a large-scale drill with more than 150 volunteers participating in the exercise.
