Hackensack NJ, for the last eight and a half years, Ridgewood’s Frank Delvecchio has served an important role in my administration as Director of Public Safety Communications at the County’s 9-1-1 communications center in Mahwah. In his tenure, Frank spearheaded a number of significant projects critical to law enforcement, our first responders, and Bergen County’s public safety apparatus at large varying from the implementation of technology upgrade to facilitating the growth of municipal shared service contracts for dispatch and 9-1-1 service for the County.

City of Hackensack Fire fighters Log a Busy Week

Hackensack NJ, City of Hackensack Fire fighters had a busy couple of days March 27th at 2:54pm Engine 1, Engine 4, Rescue 1, Ladder 1, Deputy 2 and Car 2 responded to the rear of 500 South River Street on reported vehicle into the River. Arriving units found a van down the embankment, partially into the water. The driver stated he accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake. The driver refused medical treatment at the scene and no other injuries were reported. Members of the Second Platoon secured the vehicle using ropes to keep the rising tide from floating the vehicle further into the water. The vehicle was eventually removed by on duty city tow.

Hackensack NJ, the City of Hackensack has hired five firefighters using a $1 million federal grant to bolster the department’s ranks as the city grows. Five probationary firefighters Anthony Alexander, 28, Ruben Ceballos, 29, Anthony Colantino, 36, Corey Eyer, 23, and Charles Redstone IV, 25 ,have begun training at the fire academy to prepare them to join the 100-member department.

Hackensack NJ, at approximately 1200pm Saturday the City of Hackensack Fire Department First Platoon was dispatched to reported kitchen fire at 309 Vincent Avenue , aka The Crows Nest . Arriving units investigated and found no fire in the kitchen. Further investigation revealed fire on the roof deck extending to an exterior office door frame.

Passenger Transported to Hospital after Car-Truck Accident on Route 80 Eastbound in Hackensack

Hackensack NJ, Tuesday at 14:06hrs members of the City of Hackensack Fire Department First Platoon Engine 1, Engine 2, Rescue 1 and Deputy 1 responded to Route 80 Eastbound near mile marker 64.8 for a reported motor vehicle accident. Arriving units found a truck and passenger vehicle crashed with the truck resting on the divider. One passenger was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center . Units remained on scene while the truck was lifted off the divider and removed as well as the passenger vehicle. New Jersey State Police were also on scene .
