Arriving officers quickly determined that the “disturbance,” verbal in nature only, was resultant from a misunderstanding between a manager and employee, with no police action required. However, officers noted that the Jembro Store, and another store in the same strip mall, were both open in direct violation of NJ Governor Phil Murphy’s “essential retail businesses only” proclamation. In New Jersey and Raising Taxes is Far More Important than  a National Pandemic

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

WOODBRIDGE NJ,  The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is holding two public hearings about a proposed toll increase today, despite the COVID-19 public health emergency. The Sierra Club has asked them to postpone hearings and extend the public comment period because of Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 103. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Sierra Club staff members are barred from attending public meetings or asking our members to attend public meetings. This is true for many environmental organizations and NGOs as well. We are being more responsible than the NJ Turnpike Authority to protect public health and safety.

Republican Candidate Rosemary Becchi Blasts Job Killing PRO Act

Republican Candidate Rosemary Becchi

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Morristown NJ,  The economy-killing agenda behind the so-called Protecting the Right to Organize Act cannot be obfuscated by its lofty title. By design, this bill eliminates the business franchise model that employs more than 7 million Americans and contributes nearly $675 Billion to our national economy. Under the guise of expanding worker rights, this legislation destroys entrepreneurship, specifically the ability of Americans to open and own small businesses under a national brand. The bill also expands the equally destructive schemes in New Jersey and elsewhere to end the ability of Americans to operate as independent contractors, from single parents working as on-line college professors to independent truck drivers and self-employed writers or special education instructors. Mikie Sherrill continues to fail the people of the 11th District by following Nancy Pelosi’s agenda and supporting bills that restrict the ability of Americans to achieve the American dream.  It’s time to put the people of New Jersey 11th first.
