Paramus NJ,Gas prices have been trending sharply downward for the past few weeks, but could go much lower .

As crude oil prices trend close to $30/bbl, Americans are seeing pump prices plummet across the country. On the week, gas price averages in 35 states decreased by double-digits, pushing the national average to $2.25, the cheapest price point of the year. Eleven States Have Gas Price Average of $2/Gallon or Less.

The stress associated with COVID-19, school closure, and the many disruptions happening in our daily lives may understandably increase frustration, confusion, and anxiety in our students, staff, and families. Please know we are increasingly aware of the toll this crisis is taking on our collective mental health and want to be sensitive to the growing needs of our parent community, especially those who must balance the competing demands of work, child care, virtual learning, and self-care. To that end, as noted in the mental health section of our home instruction pages, we aim to provide a growing list of resources, suggestions, tips, and information that will help our community maximize resilience and emotional well-being at this important time, and we will continue to update these resources as we learn more. Ridgewoood Board of Education and Village Council elections will both take place on May 12, 2020 , Vote will be done solely by mail

Ridgewood NJ, this afternoon, Governor Murphy issued an Executive Order regarding New Jersey elections scheduled through May 12, 2020. Please note that March and April elections have been postponed until May 12, 2020 and all elections now scheduled for May 12 will be conducted solely via vote-by-mail ballot. This means all registered voters will be mailed a vote-by-mail ballot and there will be no in-person voting at polling places for these elections. These changes do not impact the June Primary Election.

BREAKING: Tedesco Rescinds Executive Order Declaring State of Emergency in Bergen County At the Request of the Governor

Hackensack NJ,  Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco today rescinded his Executive Order declaring a State of Emergency in the County at the request of the Governor.  The County Executive will hold a news conference today – March 19 – at 5:30 p.m. at Two Bergen County Plaza to discuss these recent developments and the next steps he will be taking to protect the residents, visitors and workers of Bergen County.

Tedesco said on Wednesday that he submitted the revised executive order to the Governor for review.  During his daily briefing on Tuesday, Murphy appealed to county and local governments to coordinate with the state. “We will override local and county actions to make sure we are consistent in our approach,” Murphy said.

IRS : Payment Deadline Extended to July 15, 2020

The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service are providing special payment relief to individuals and businesses in response to the COVID-19 Outbreak. The filing deadline for tax returns remains April 15, 2020. The IRS urges taxpayers who are owed a refund to file as quickly as possible. For those who can’t file by the April 15, 2020 deadline, the IRS reminds individual taxpayers that everyone is eligible to request a six-month extension to file their return.

President Dispatches U.S. Navy hospital ship to New York Harbor

New York NJ, U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed to dispatch a U.S. Navy hospital ship to New York Harbor to help ease crowded city hospitals. USNS Comfort, based in Norfolk, Virginia, is a ship with 1,000 beds and is currently being prepared to sail to New York.

Fairview NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JOSE FRANCISCO-GARCIA (DOB: 03/24/1993; single; surveillance system installer) of 323 53rd Street, West New York, NJ, on a charge of Vehicular Homicide.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Fairview Police Department under the direction of Chief Martin Kahn.
