Fair lawn NJ, Fair Lawn Police report that it was shortly after 2 p.m. when the heavy-set black female robber “passed a note to the teller while keeping one hand in her jacket pocket and bringing that pocketed hand on top of the counter for the bank teller to see. This happened at the Columbia Bank on Fair Lawn Avenue. If you saw anything or have any information of this suspected pictured please contact us at 201-796-1400.

Trenton NJ, Senator Joe Pennacchio said a ban on single-use bags approved by the New Jersey Senate today is bad public policy that will inconvenience consumers and put their health at risk.

“The bag ban is bad policy,” said Pennacchio (R-26). “It creates a major inconvenience for consumers, raises costs, has dubious environmental benefits, and raises serious health concerns.”

Glen Rock Fire Brings In Multiple Towns to Assist

Glen Rock NJ, At 1834 hours on Monday, the Glen Rock Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke on the second floor of a residence on the Boulevard. A second alarm was transmitted in route by 830 upon reports by GRPD of a heavy smoke condition. The main fire area was in the attic space of the home. Crews used a combination of interior and exterior attacks to bring the fire under control. Thanks to all mutual aid towns, including Hawthorne, Fair Lawn, Ridgewood, Midland Park, Paramus, Waldwick, Wyckoff and Elmwood Park. Also thanks to the GRVAC and Glen Rock Police  for on scene assistance as well as Northwest and Central Bergen Mutual Aid coordinators and safety officers.

NJ Assembly Republicans Push Bill to Cut State Corporate Income Taxes

Trenton NJ,  Assembly Republicans are walking to their talk of cutting the corporate business tax to make the state more business friendly. Assemblymen Christopher DePhillips and John DiMaio are introducing a bill (A3754) with Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso that would gradually cut the rate to a flat 2.5 percent.

“The reason we need a tax incentive program to attract businesses is because taxes are too high,” said DePhillips (R-Bergen). “The simple answer is to lower the rate to a point that makes New Jersey more attractive financially than other states.”
