Paramus NJ, a routine Sunday drive turned into a harrowing rescue operation this weekend in one of Bergen County’s busiest transit hubs.

On Sunday afternoon, January 18, 2026, emergency crews rushed to the intersection of Route 17 Southbound and the “flyover” exit ramp to Route 4. An older model Chevrolet Tahoe had veered off the roadway, plunging nearly 200 feet into a deep embankment. The crash, occurring amidst a light evening snowfall, left the white SUV with New York plates wedged in a ditch far from the pavement.
