Bergen County United Way and the Madeline Corporation Celebrate the Opening of a “Ridgewood Commons”

Ridgewood NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco , “Today I joined Bergen County United Way and the Madeline Corporation to celebrate the opening of a “Ridgewood Commons,” a new housing development that will soon serve Bergen County residents with developmental disabilities. The 24-bedroom group home is located in the former Sealfon’s clothing store and offers the new residents access independent living right in the downtown of Ridgewood. The County of Bergen’s Community Development Office played a major role in the project, contributing $1 million in funds out of the $2.1 million budget. I would like to give a special thank you to Ridgewood Mayor Susan Knudsen and the Village Council for their support. I also want to thank all the project’s partners NJ HMFA, TD Bank, Columbia Bank, Valley National Bank, Onyx Equities, McGowan Construction, and the James Mazzo Family.

How Much House Can You Really Afford ?

Ridgewood NJ, according to Realtor.com the inventory of homes actively for sale in June decreased by 43.1% over the past year, a lower rate of decline compared to the 50.9% drop in May. A deceleration in the decline of inventory means the market is heading in an encouraging direction, but active inventory still remains at a historically low level. This decline meant there were 415,000 fewer homes actively for sale on a typical day in June compared to the previous year. Nationwide the total number of unsold homes that  includes active listings and listings in various stages of the selling process that are not yet sold– is down 20.3% percent from June 2020.

Lunar Real-estate : Northrop Grumman to Build Homes on Moon orbit under $935,000 NASA contract

Ridgewood NJ, Northrop Grumman Corp has acquired a $935 million contract from NASA to develop living quarters for its planned outpost in lunar orbit. The Habitation And Logistics Outpost (HALO) will be a vital component of NASA’s lunar Gateway. Gateway will support science investigations and enable surface landings on the moon. Eight countries have signed a pact as part of the Artemis program. NASA is aiming to launch the spacecraft in November 2024.

NJ Realtor: Low Inventory Continues to Fuel Higher Prices

Ridgewood NJ, Hearty buyer demand throughout the state has been tempered only by the continued lack of inventory across all categories in May, according to housing data from New Jersey Realtors. Prices continue to push higher as the available housing stock drops lower. Across the state, the median sales price for a single family home in May was $435,000, a 24.3 percent increase, equal to a jump of $85,000 over last May. Still, buyers are undeterred, fueled by low mortgage rates that help offset the affordability issue.
