George Washington Middle Schooler Earns President’s Service Award

Ridgewood NJ, Abigail Stine has always loved her local library. So, when she learned she could volunteer there, she didn’t hesitate. Fast forward and now, Abigail, an eighth grader at Ridgewood’s George Washington Middle School, is a recipient of the bronze President’s Service Award, which recognizes volunteers for their hours of volunteer service over a 12-month period. To achieve the bronze award, Abigail volunteered more than 50 hours with the library.

Bucco and Michael Testa said that the State Board of Education is focused more on advancing identity politics than building stronger relationships between parents and teachers in response to the board’s vote to approve a proposal to remove “equality” in the “Managing for Equality and Equity in Education” Chapter of New Jersey’s Administrative Code.
