Gubernatorial candidate Hirsh Singh, who has vowed to overhaul the election system in New Jersey and make it more transparent, has come down strongly on the attack by former Governor Chris Christie against President Trump over the weekend. Christie wanted Trump to end the lawsuits opposing election fraud and called his legal team a national embarrassment.

Governor Murphy Extends Public Health Emergency Dictatorship in New Jersey

Trenton NJ,  Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 200. The Order extends the Public Health Emergency that was declared on March 9, 2020 through Executive Order No. 103, which was previously extended on April 7, May 6, June 4, July 2, August 1, August 27, September 25, and October 24. Under the Emergency Health Powers Act, a declared public health emergency expires after 30 days unless renewed.

NJ Governor Phil Murphy is afraid of showing the public what criteria he uses for restrictions; prolonging the state recession; creating unemployment; for violating his own restrictions multiple times; the havoc of the mail-in election he mandated; mismanagement of multiple state agencies; anger over his tax hikes; and of the result of investigations into the deaths (in long term care facilities) of the roughly half of the states Covid fatalities. New Jersey Revenue Collections Continue Downward Spiral

Trenton NJ, The Department of the Treasury reported that October revenue collections for the major taxes totaled $2.501 billion, down $137.4 million, or 5.2 percent below last October. Fiscal year-to-date, total collections of $8.108 billion are down $673.1 million, or 7.7 percent below the same four months last year.

New Jersey Supreme Court Order Suspends Jury Trials Over COVID-19 Pandemic Concerns

Trenton NJ, The Supreme Court issued an order today suspending criminal and civil jury trials and in-person grand jury sessions in response to a second wave of COVID-19 infections.

Most court hearings have been held remotely since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in March. As COVID cases declined and the court put safety measures in place, limited in-person proceedings, including socially distanced jury trials and inperson grand jury sessions, were able to resume in September.

Marijuana Reform Campaigns Go Five For Five in November

Trenton NJ,  Arizona, Montana, New Jersey, and South Dakota have legalized marijuana for adults 21 and older, as voters in each state approved their respective ballot initiatives at the ballot box. South Dakota also passed a medical marijuana initiative and became the first state in American history to enact both policies on the same day. The Marijuana Policy Project was instrumental in the Montana and South Dakota campaigns.

Jersey City NJ, NJ state troopers helped escort World War II veteran, Sidney Walton, through New Jersey during his Veterans Day Parade from Washington D.C. to New York.
Troopers met the 101-year-old veteran at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA and teamed up with members of the Pennsylvania State Police to get him safely into New Jersey. Troopers then escorted Sidney along the New Jersey Turnpike to the Holland Tunnel where members of the New York State Police and New York City Police Department guided Sidney into New York.

Upon learning this information, the Attorney General took a rapid COVID-19 test which came back positive; a follow-up PCR test, however, returned a negative result.

Trenton NJ, S&P Global Ratings downgraded New Jersey’s general obligation bonds to BBB-plus from A-minus Friday afternoon based on steep revenue losses triggered by the coronavirus. Citing economic headwinds caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the rating agency took the action ahead of the state’s planned $4 billion-plus GO sale this month, after two other agencies affirmed the state’s rating. S&P also revised the credit outlook to stable from negative.
