Glen Rock Resident Foils Attempted Car Break-in

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police report on June 20th at 11:08 p.m. a resident on the 400 block of Doremus Avenue reported observing an unknown person who appeared to be attempting to enter their vehicle. As police were being called the resident reported that the person fled in the area in an unknown direction. Officers, assisted by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit as well as officer from the Ridgewood Police Department, searched the area with negative results. No vehicles in the area were found to have been entered.

Man Charged in Murder of Dumont Mother

Dumont NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JEFFREY DANIELS (DOB: 11/01/1983; single; delivery associate) of 310 Knickerbocker Road, Dumont, NJ, on charges of Murder, Possession Of A Weapon For An Unlawful Purpose, and Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Connor.

Body Discovered in Dumont

Dumont NJ, At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the Dumont Police Department received reports that a 5-year-old child was wandering unattended in the area of an apartment complex at 310 Knickerbocker Road in Dumont. Responding officers learned that the child’s mother lived in the complex. The child’s aunt reported that her sister, the child’s 36-year-old mother, was not answering her phone. Officers entered the mother’s apartment where they discovered her dead body. The victim had been stabbed in the neck.

Route 208 northbound Crash in Hawthorne Sends One to the Hospital

Hawthorne NJ, One (1) driver involved in a Monday afternoon, 06/08, two (2) vehicle rollover crash on Route 208 northbound in Hawthorne sustained a non-life threatening injury and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Hawthorne Police, Hawthorne Fire Department, and Hawthorne EMS responded to the incident. Glen Rock Police assisted with traffic control. Northbound Route 208 was closed for approximately 30 minutes between Utter Avenue and Goffle Road, Hawthorne while emergency crews and tow truck operators worked to right and remove the vehicle from the highway.

Ho Ho Kus Fire Quickly Knocks Down Car Fire on Hollywood Avenue

Ho Ho Kus NJ, This morning at 08:03 hours, the Ho Ho Kus Fire Department was alerted to Route 17 North at Hollywood Avenue for a reported vehicle fire. Responding Police & Fire units located a 1 car MVA into a tree in front of 831 Hollywood Ave with heavy fire. Members from Engine 733 quickly knocked the fire down with assistance from Engine 731. The single occupant of the vehicle was transported by the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps. to a local hospital with minor injuries. The Ho Ho Kus Fire Department operated on scene for approximately 57 minutes.

Lodi NJ, according to Assemblyman Kevin J. Rooney the latest Press Release from, “New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles” has extended physical closure dates till the end of July. The extensions are now deeply impacting New Jerseyans who can’t sell their vehicle privately. People who want to sell their car privately may need to sell their car for extra cash to pay their bills or to upgrade in order to take advantage of the deeply discounted new car dealers offers. Unfortunately they do not have the ability to so. How do you transfer title or register for plates on a private sale without motor vehicle being open?

Landscaping Truck Barrels in to Home in Hawthorne

Hawthorne NJ, A single axle, crew cab dump truck and equipment trailer owned by a local landscaping company, smashed into a SUV before barrelling down an embankment and crashing into the rear of a single family home located on Emeline Drive in Hawthorne. No injuries were reported in the Monday afternoon, 05/18 mishap. A heavy duty tow truck was summoned to remove the wreckage. Damage to the structure was moderate; a building inspector was dispatched to assess whether the home could still be occupied. Hawthorne Police, Hawthorne Fire, Wyckoff Fire rescue truck, and Hawthorne EMS responded to the incident. The Hawthorne FD Ladies Auxiliary provided refreshments to emergency personnel who were working at the scene.

Ridgewood Fire Inspector Uncovers an Unstable Brick Facade on Broad Street

Ridgewood NJ, a Ridgewood Fire Department Fire Inspector performing a routine inspection on Thursday afternoon, 05/14, observed an unstable brick facade on the front of mixed use building located at 18 South Broad Street, Ridgewood. A Ridgewood Police uniformed patrol officer and personnel from Ridgewood Emergency Services assisted Ridgewood firefighters in getting vehicles moved from the street, and cordoning off the sidewalk & parking spaces in front of the damaged building. Front doors to apartments above and the restaurant below were marked with caution tape and signs as being “unsafe.” A construction crew was scheduled to perform demolition and repair work on Friday, 05/15. The building was deemed safe for occupancy by a sub code official from the Village’s Building Department.
