Ridgewood High School Stadium And Stevens Field Are A Go , Maple Field Making Progress

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Village Manager Keith Kazmark the cleanup and restoration of Maple Field are now underway, although there was a slight delay due to weather conditions. Nevertheless, there is optimism that the field will be ready for our children to play on by the week’s end. Gratitude is extended to the dedicated efforts of our Parks & Recreation staff, who have been diligently working in the aftermath of the recent flooding to ensure the community’s enjoyment of the field once again.

Two Tow Trucks Needed to Pull Tesla Up an Embankment off Grove Street in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with an early Tuesday morning, 10/17, motor vehicle crash in which the driver of a white colored Tesla lost control of her vehicle while driving westbound on Grove Street, Ridgewood, veered off of the roadway, and down an embankment. No injuries were reported in the mishap, but it took two (2) tow trucks more than one (1) hour to remove the Tesla from its predicament. Paramus Police assisted with traffic control while the prolonged removal process took place.

Ridgewood NJ, the New Jersey Department of Transportation and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection remind motorists to be alert for white-tailed deer as days get shorter and deer become more active with the mating season getting underway. “Deer are involved in thousands of collisions with motor vehicles in New Jersey each year, with the highest number occurring during the fall mating season,” said NJDEP Fish & Wildlife Assistant Commissioner Dave Golden. “It is very important that motorists in all parts of the state be alert to the possibility of deer suddenly darting onto roadways, and to follow some basic guidelines to stay safe. ”Deer are entering the fall mating season, known as the fall rut, and may suddenly sprint onto roadways as bucks actively pursue does.

Vehicle Thefts Continue to Increase to Near-Record Highs in 2023

Ridgewood NJ, the United States continues to be plagued by near-record levels of vehicle thefts, according to a new report released by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), the insurance industry’s not-for-profit association dedicated to predicting, preventing, and prosecuting insurance crime. The report showed that nearly 500,000 vehicles were reported stolen nationwide in the first half of 2023, marking an increase of more than two percent compared to the first half of 2022. Illinois represented the largest increase in vehicle thefts of any state at 38 percent, followed by New York with a 20 percent increase and Ohio with a 15 percent increase over the first half of 2022. The report was released to coincide with National Crime Prevention Month, which shines a spotlight on crime prevention and personal safety every October.
