Ridgewood NJ, on Friday  Ridgewood Firefighters “A” Shift did some Tower Training at Graydon pool .  Hope none looking at these pictures has the fear of heights .

The name of phobia of heights is acrophobia, which is commonly defined as an extreme and irrational fear of heights and high places. Although it is often confused with vertigo or the spinning sensation that is observed when a person looks down from a high place, acrophobia is actually more than just height vertigo.

Ridgewood NJ, NJ State Trooper Evan Curtiss, a Ridgewood High School graduate and a member of Ridgewood Emergency Services, was the pilot of a NJ State Police helicopter that made a “surprise” landing behind Ridgewood Police headquarters late Wednesday morning, 8/15. Trooper Curtiss had been contacted by Ridgewood PBA Local 20 and asked if he could obtain permission fly a police helicopter into Ridgewood in order that Cole McKeon, son of Ridgewood Patrol Officer Kevin McKeon, could see a helicopter up close. Cole is currently under going treatment for Stage 4 cancer, but was able to attend today’s event and was thrilled by what he was able to see and touch.
