Good afternoon hard working at home residents!  With the ongoing quarantine still in effect, we are aware that many of you may now work from home. For those of you who are adjusting to your “new norm” you may quickly realize that this presents you with new hurdles and experiences to overcome and we want to help!
Unfortunately, working from home can present some new technology vulnerabilities. Criminals, who never take a day off, could see this as an opportunity to attack your business and personal accounts. Fortunately enough, Wyckoff Police doesn’t take days off either. At least three (3) victims were transported to area hospitals; one reportedly sustained critical injuries after Route 17 Crash in Waldwick

Waldwick NJ, Waldwick Police, Waldwick EMS, Waldwick Fire Department, and hospital based ALS & BLS units responded to aid the victims of a Saturday evening, 03/28, single vehicle crash on Route 17 southbound at Summit Avenue, Waldwick. At least three (3) victims were transported to area hospitals; one (1) victim reportedly sustained critical injuries. Traffic on Route 17 southbound was restricted while emergency crews worked at the scene. The 4-door sedan involved in the crash apparently spun out on the wet roadway surface and crashed into a retaining wall of a nearby single family home. Firefighters had to extricate one (1) victim from the wrecked vehicle. A tow truck removed the heavily damaged sedan from the scene.

Hackensack NJ, As of 6:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2020, Bergen County has 1,832 total “presumptive positive” cases of COVID-19 identified; impacting 68 municipalities.

As of today, we have sadly lost 31 residents and the County of Bergen mourns their loss and offers condolences to their loved ones

Trenton NJ, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal today urged the public and business owners to comply with the Governor’s emergency orders— not only to keep themselves and others healthy, but to avoid creating more work and risks for hard-pressed law enforcement officers. He warned that those who fail to comply will be held accountable, citing numerous cases where charges have been filed for violations of the orders or other offenses related to the coronavirus.

Bergen County Reports Total of 1505 COVID-19 Cases as of Friday

CDC Issues Domestic Travel Advisory for New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut

Ridgewood NJ, the CDC urges residents of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to refrain from non-essential domestic travel for 14 days effective immediately.  This Domestic Travel Advisory does not apply to employees of critical infrastructure industries, including but not limited to trucking, public health professionals, financial services, and food supply.  These employees of critical infrastructure, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security (https://www.cisa.gov/publication/guidance-essential-critical-infrastructure-workforceexternal icon) have a special responsibility to maintain normal work schedule.  The Governors of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut will have full discretion to implement this Domestic Travel Advisory.

MVC Agencies Will Remain Closed to the Public For Two More Weeks

Important Changes to COVID 19 Testing Centers at Bergen Community and PNC Bank Arts Center

Paramus NJ, In partnership with FEMA, New Jersey has opened two community-based testing sites for individuals who are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness.

In order to be eligible for testing, individuals must be current New Jersey residents and experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. Priority will be given to symptomatic individuals experiencing cough, fever (99.6F or above) and shortness of breath.

ABBOTT LAUNCHES MOLECULAR POINT-OF-CARE TEST TO DETECT NOVEL CORONAVIRUS IN AS LITTLE AS FIVE MINUTES

Chicago Ill, Abbott Laboratories is unveiling a coronavirus test that can tell if someone is infected in as little as five minutes, and is so small and portable it can be used in almost any health-care setting.

The medical-device maker plans to supply 50,000 tests a day starting April 1, said John Frels, vice president of research and development at Abbott Diagnostics. The molecular test looks for fragments of the coronavirus genome, which can quickly be detected when present at high levels. A thorough search to definitively rule out an infection can take up to 13 minutes, he said.
