Glen Rock Library has been closed until further notice

Glen Rock NJ, as of March 30th the Glen Rock Library has been closed .  On there Facebook page they issued the following statement:
“Out of an abundance of caution and care and concern for our community, the Glen Rock Library will be closed until further notice. Our blue return bins are closed as well. You may return your items to another BCCLS library or wait until we reopen. Your valid Glen Rock Library card can be used electronically or at another BCCLS library.”

Paycheck Protection Program Extended an Additional Two Months to May 31, 2021

COVID-19 Message Phishing Attacks on the Raise

Ridgewood NJ, hackers continue to send COVID-19-related messages to deliver malware or steal credentials and other sensitive information. In an attempt to counter these threats, the US Department of Justice recently seized five domains that impersonated biotech companies involved in vaccine development. These domains collected personal data on visitors for use in future cyber attacks. Organizations and individuals are advised to remain vigilant and report incidents to the New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC).

African Americans Far Safer from COVID in Red States

Ridgewood NJ, lots of talk by the media of racial disparity when dealing with COVID, but here are some findings that should seriously disturb every African American family . While it is true and troubling that minorities have been more adversely affected (in terms of death rates and infection rates) by COVID than whites, the story that hasn’t been told is that Democratic governors have done a much worse job keeping blacks safe and healthy than red state governors.

Ridgewood NJ,  NJ TRANSIT, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority teamed up with Walgreens today to expedite the effort to vaccinate employees during a large-scale vaccine clinic in Newark. The clinic had capacity to vaccinate nearly 1,000 employees of the agencies in a single day.

Pfizer has started clinical trials of a pill Covid-19 patients can take as soon as they start developing symptoms

Ridgewood NJ, Pfizer has started stage one clinical trials on an oral pill designed to be an early intervention for Covid-19. The pill has demonstrated potent in-vitro antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2. It can be used with other antivirals to create a treatment that complements vaccination. The pill is a protease inhibitor. It binds to a viral enzyme to prevent the virus from replicating in the cell. More information about the clinical trials will be shared on April 6.
