-Give yourself extra time to reach your destination. Roads could be slippery, and therefore drivers could be driving below the speed limit for safety. DO NOT SPEED.
-Clean off all snow and ice on your entire vehicle before you start driving to keep it from flying off your vehicle and obscuring yours and other drivers visibility.
-Drive with your seat belt fastened and car seats properly secured.
-Pack an emergency kit that includes jumper cables, flares, sand/salt, cell phone charger, ice scraper, flashlight, blankets, etc.
-Turn on your vehicle’s headlights before heading out on the road. Also make sure to always use your turn signals.
-Allow more room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Glen Rock NJ, on Friday January 7th at 9:10 AM , while on patrol Glen Rock P.O. James Donnelly came across a road-rage incident at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Glen Avenue. The officer separated both drivers, a 57-year-old Hawthorne man and a 35-year-old Upper Saddle River man. Both men provided the officer with conflicting accounts of what had occurred and were advised of their right to sign complaints with the Glen Rock Municipal Court.
Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock’s newest Police Officer was sworn in by Mayor Kristine Morieko at a private ceremony on January 7th, attended by his family and members of the Glen Rock Police Department. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a public ceremony was not possible.
Glen Rock NJ, a late Saturday morning, 01/08, well-involved pickup truck fire on Grandview Avenue, Glen Rock was extinguished by firefighters from Glen Rock and Hawthorne Fire Company #4. The vehicle’s driver escaped safely just after the blaze started and was uninjured. Hawthorne Police assisted Glen Rock Police with traffic control. The pickup was a total loss and was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.
Glen Rock NJ, a four (4) vehicle, Saturday morning, 01/08, chain reaction crash in the 700 block of Ackerman Avenue, Glen Rock was apparently triggered when the driver of an SUV slammed into a utility pole and another driver stopped to check for injuries. An occupant of the SUV was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. At least two (2) of the four (4) involved vehicles were towed from the scene.
Glen Rock NJ, on Wednesday November 17th at 1:18 PM Glen Rock PO Matt Stanislao received a report of a 90-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s who had wandered off from a family member’s home. With the assistance of the Ridgewood Police Department, the woman was located on Godwin Avenue and subsequently reunited with her family members.
Glen Rock NJ , Glen Rock Police warn, communities throughout our region continue to experience increasing numbers of stolen vehicles and thefts from motor vehicles. The common denominator is that the vehicles are unlocked and that key fobs have been left inside vehicles. Glen Rock is no exception and these instances are on the increase here and everywhere. Lock your vehicle, lock your house, lock your garage, lock your shed, do not leave valuables visible inside your vehicle and never ever leave your key fob in your vehicle.
Glen Rock NJ, on Saturday December 11th at 7:26 PM Glen Rock Police Patrol units were dispatched to a residence on Doremus Avenue for a report of a fight. Officers on scene found that an altercation broke out amongst a group of adults during a party. There were allegations of a physical assault that may have occurred prior to officers’ arrival. No medical assistance was requested at that time. Since the alleged assault was not witnessed by officers, parties involved were advised how to sign civilian complaints with the Glen Rock Municipal Court if they wished.

Glen Rock NJ, first responders from multiple agencies rushed to aid an individual who was struck by a Hoboken bound NJ Transit train at the Glen Rock Main Line Station on Thursday morning, 12/09. The victim was extricated from underneath the train and transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. NJ Transit Police is conducting an investigation of the incident. No crew members nor passengers were injured. Main Line rail service was suspended in both directions between Paterson and Ridgewood due to the pedestrian strike at Glen Rock Station on the Main Line. NJ Transit Police officers were on scene and assisting.
Glen Rock on Monday November 29th at 1:29 PM , a Glen Rock resident reported that after making an Amazon purchase, they received a text from what was believed to be Amazon concerning a purchase in the amount of $1,490.97 which the resident did not make. A number was provided to dispute the charge which they called.
