Glen Rock NJ, a FedEx delivery van became wedged underneath an office building on Harristown Road in Glen Rock for almost 3 1/2 hours on Monday, 08/09, causing significant damage to the building’s water driven fire suppression system. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department became aware of the mishap after responding to a central station monitored, “water flow detected,” automatic fire alarm notification at the address. The vehicle’s driver reportedly told arriving police officers that “at least I got a free car wash.” A tow truck operator had to remove all four (4) wheels from the vehicle in order to free it. No word from police on the scene as to whether any summonses would be issued in connection with the crash. The vehicle did not appear to have sustained damage that would have prevented it from being driven from the scene on its own power.
