Ridgewood NJ, perfect weather for opening day at Graydon Pool was dampened by incident in which a child was apparently seriously injured while swimming in the pool’s “shallow” area. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire, and Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel rushed to assist in the child’s safe removal from the pool and transfer to a waiting ambulance. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ridgewood EMTs. The victim was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. The child’s guardians/parents were at the pool when the incident occurred.

Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Police, the Ridgewood Parks and Recreation along with EZRide held a series of Bike Safety Skills Courses today at Graydon Pool. Kids learned to do safety checks on their bicycles and operate safely on the roads. After a ride around the neighborhood, the kids were treated to healthy snack. (Pictured are Sgt. Ridgewood NJ, volunteers from the Girls Scout, Carolyn Jacoby and Mahmoud Hamza from the Shade Tree commission, Deputy Mayor Sedon and his son, passed out free tree seedlings for Ridgewood residents on Saturday, May 1 as part of the NJ Forest Service’s New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign.

Ridgewood NJ, according to Councilwoman Bernadette Walsh, who is the Village Council liaison to the Parks & Rec Conservation Board and the Field Committee, the Parks & Recreation Department is happy to announce that Summer Day Camp will return this year. While there may still be some changes to the camp, we can confirm that it will run from Tuesday, June 29-Friday, August 6 from 9 am-1:30 pm with the exception of days when it rains and camp is cancelled. Campers will be placed in groups with a 20:2 ratio or less. Summer Camp will still consist of organized games, arts & crafts, and swim time at Graydon Pool.

Ridgewood Nj, Graydon pool reported its 2020 COVID19 related results. In 2019 Graydon had 2316 registered members . In 2020 Graydon pool dropped to1529 registered members . However the Village Parks & Recreation day camp did not operate this summer due to COVID 19 concerns. Day camp participants are always required to obtain seasonal Graydon memberships.
