They celebrated this milestone with a reunion honoring junior members past and present earlier in the month. Young men and women are welcome to join our ranks at age 16. The  borough thanked all for their service !

Contractors Truck Towed after Ho-Ho-Kus Crash

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, the adult male driver of a dry wall contractor’s van was uninjured in an early Friday morning, 06/17, crash on Werimus Road near Deerhill Road, Ho-Ho-Kus. The wrecked van was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Ho-Ho-Kus Police responded to the incident along with a street sweeper from the Ho-Ho-Kus Department of Public Works.

Ho-Ho-Kus Fire with the Aid of Waldwick and Ridgewood Fire Departments Clear Route 17 Vehicle Fire in 45 Minutes

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, on Tuesday May 10th the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department around 6:40 was dispatched to Route 17 southbound near Racetrack Rd. for a reported vehicle fire. Engines 733 & 731 arrived to find a fully-involved utility van on the shoulder. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, assisted by Waldwick Fire Engine 633 and Ridgewood Fire Engine 35. There were no injuries and all units cleared the scene within 45 minutes.

Jammed Delivery Truck Closes East Saddle River Road in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, a stuck truck caused the closure of East Saddle River Road near Fox Run in Ho-Ho-Kus for over one (1) hour on Saturday afternoon, 05/14. A large box truck making a delivery to a nearby home got stuck when turning into the home’s driveway. A heavy duty tow truck was dispatched to free the stuck vehicle. No damage was reported to either the truck, driveway, or street. Two (2) Ho-Ho-Kus Police marked patrol units provided traffic control during the incident. Bergen County SWAT Called in to Respond to Distraught Man in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, the Bergen County SWAT team was called late Thursday afternoon, 05/12, to assist with the safe removal of a distraught adult male from his single family Ho-Ho-Kus home, known by local police to contain multiple, legal firearms. No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident. The individual was safely removed from the home and transported by ambulance to New Bridge Regional Medical Center for an evaluation. Ho-Ho-Kus Police was assisted at the scene by Saddle River Police, Waldwick Police, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

New Jersey Fish and Wildlife urges you to leave young wildlife undisturbed. Every year, especially around this time, the lives of many young animals are disrupted. Well-intentioned people may attempt to “save” these animals while most often, the mother is nearby.

UPDATE: Bear Sighting in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ridgewood Police: A black bear has been spotted on the east side of town this morning. Bears live in our area and will leave the woods in search of food. If seen, make yourself known with loud noises and do not corner it /make sure it has an escape route. Black bear attacks are very rare but if you see one acting aggressively, give us a call.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, according to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police yesterday at 532pm , a bear was still in the area, now seen on Racetrack Road. NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife has been contacted and provided same advice.
Do not approach. Leave it alone. Keep kids and pets out of the area. Bring any bird feeders inside.

The camera will be affixed to the officer’s outer most uniform garment.
