Car Thieves : “We need more under cover patrols throughout the night”

Adam 12

“The last car crew that was stealing cars in our area was not from Patterson. They were from Elizabeth and Newark. They found a few cars and a few of the thieves they were putting the cars in containers and they were going overseas. They were not being chopped up like in the 70s. Well that’s what the least news said. We need more under cover patrols throughout the night. Maybe we need to have more but he’s working at night then during the day I don’t know. But let’s keep our cops in our towns. Maybe we need to bring in all the other law agencies to cover Their responsibilities. We should not be covering major highways. Every time there’s a major accident the local towns are there first. The state police burn county units just drive by. This is ridiculous. Maybe we should hire a private investigator to look into this issue. Many people were not like that right.”

Ridgewood NJ, today is National Pizza Pie Day 2020 in United States. New Jersey’s official Twitter account has started yet another food fight with a bold tweet declaring itself “the pizza capital of the world.”

Yes, the world — as in, New Jersey thinks they have better pies than both New York and Italy. This is the second time the account has gone viral for trying to scrap with regions that arguably have already claimed a superior title. Last month, the official Twitter account questionably declared itself “Bagel capital of the world.”

Reader says ,”The biggest problem is enforcement”

Ridgewood's Glenwood Road to become one way street east of Upper Boulevard

by Boyd Loving

“This road has been in use for more than 200 years. Closing it is stupid. 40 years ago when the state had to repair the bridge over the Waldwick RR tracks this was the detour route. Closing it is stupid. The biggest problem is enforcement. People stopping at or on tracks to discharge passengers, trucks that are over the limit, idiots who don’t know how to drive slowing down on an uphill grade causing following cars to get stuck on the tracks, etc.”

Reader says , “So if the bureaucrats at the state are successful with this stupid proposal, Ridgewood Police will need to add a permanent post on W. glen ave to deal with all of the accidents”

“The stats used by the state were obtained when Glen avenue was closed for the PSEG pipe upgrade that forced big trucks to find alternate routes. I’d bet it was the REASON NJDOT would not allow PSEG to excavate W. Glen ave under the trestle for the gas pipe upgrade, which required a longer road closure to ‘push’ pipes underneath. THEN they used this TIME to promote their agenda, which was to close Glenwood by forcing truck traffic off w.glen WITHOUT proper Temporary signage indicating the weight limits on that road. The only time there was temporary proper signage was the few days waldwick PD did some details at the intersection of w.glen and monroe with their temporary sign. The bureacrats at NJ DOT scammed us on this one BIG TIME. I have lived here and driven that hill since the late 1960s and its a very RARE occasion that a truck requires assistance after IGNORING the signs. PS.. The dumb ass village sign was 1/2 down the hill so a truck wouldnt read it until IT WAS ALREADY stuck. Its since been moved to a more appropriate location. So if the bureacrats at the state are successful with this stupid proposal, RPD will need to add a permanent post on W. glen ave to deal with all of the accidents of vehicles making left turns onto w. glen after heading south on Upper Blvd, Hillcrest, and Heights, all of who would otherwise use the glenwood road crossing. The traffic at the intersection of maple and w. glen will be backed up with all the extra traffic. Its bad enough now that the traffic eastbound is backed up to oak street on w. glen during busy times. Actions have consequences. Most don’t recall when the state shut down the racetrack road light/exit on RT 17, it displaced all that traffic into the walthery ave neighborhood from linwood to glen. that used to be a nice quiet street. now they have signs prohibiting RH turns from linwood west into walthery, pershing etc for the after 4pm time. This bone headed idea will displace an orderly flow of traffic *except for the few morons who cant drive* and create problems elsewhere”

Reader asks , “Who benefits from the closing(Glenwood Road)?”

Ridgewood's Glenwood Road to become one way street east of Upper Boulevard

Some random musings…

What’s the rationale behind closing this road? Too many auto accidents? Too many vehiclular deaths? Too many pedestrian injuries? Too expensive to maintain? Too many stuck trucks? Who benefits from the closing? Remember, It’s ALWAYS all about the money. Figure out who’s making more money or who’s spending less if the road’s been closed, and you’ll know why it happens.

Village of Ridgewood Mayor Ramon M Hache Updates the NJDOT Plan to Change Glenwood Road to a One Way Street

Ridgewood's Glenwood Road to become one way street east of Upper Boulevard

Ridgewood NJ ,Village of Ridgewood Mayor Ramon M Hache said on Facebook.”Just an update on the NJDOT plan to change Glenwood Road to a one way street at the bottom of the hill leading into Ho-Ho-Kus. I have personally reached out to Gov. Murphy’s office to seek his support in pushing back on the NJDOT plan. Not only do I disagree with their plan, the NJDOT did not properly inform the Village and have failed to exhaust all available and logical options. Furthermore, I believe the NJDOT failed to provide adequate justification for their plan while not properly considering the impact of such plan on our residents. I would like for the Village Council to explore our available legal options which is why I have placed this on Closed Session for Wednesday night.”
