Jersey City NJ, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal today announced that nine individuals have been charged with conspiring to use stolen identities to obtain New Jersey digital driver’s licenses which they used to fraudulently purchase and finance motor vehicles and watercrafts worth more than $1.3 million at dealerships in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Lodi NJ, Governor Murphy today signed legislation (A4486) which authorizes the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) to use stored driver’s license or identification card photos for longer than eight years and limits certain appointment times at MVC locations to senior citizens and persons with certain medical conditions during COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor also signed A4520, which temporarily extends deadlines to register vehicles and obtain driver’s licenses for new State residents during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
River Vale NJ, Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi, “This is no longer about health and safety. The people of the State of NJ are being played” Schepisi commented on a Facebook post on Tuesday :
“It is so incredibly important for the people of the State of New Jersey to educate themselves regarding what has happened in the past several months. My office gets daily calls and emails regarding the abysmal conditions at NJ’s Motor Vehicle Commission. 8-10 hour waits are the norm with people lining up at 4 am in order to secure an appointment.
Lodi NJ, Senator Anthony M. Bucco said the continued long lines at MVC facilities in Randolph and across New Jersey make it clear that the Murphy administration needs to implement real solutions to better serve drivers.
“Despite Governor Murphy’s insistence that everything’s under control again at the MVC, nothing could be further from the truth,” said Bucco (R-25). “Six weeks after agencies reopened for business, people are still lining up in the middle of the night for a chance to get through the door. Drivers shouldn’t have to arrive at the MVC before dawn to guarantee they’ll be successful in obtaining their license, registration, or title.”
Lodi NJ, Governor Murphy allows over 70 people inside the NJMVC in Lodi to get a privilege ie… driving in New Jersey ,but won’t allow one at a time to exercise the constitutional right to vote.
Trenton NJ, Senator Anthony M. Bucco, Senator Kristin Corrado, and Senator Joe Pennacchio said the Murphy Administration’s massive failures in protecting nursing homes, processing unemployment claims, and reopening Motor Vehicle Commission agencies must be investigated by the Legislature to ensure that fixes can be implemented as quickly as possible.
“It’s clear to everyone in New Jersey that the Murphy Administration has failed to properly protect nursing home residents, help unemployed workers, or plan for the MVC’s reopening,” said Bucco (R-25). “What’s not clear, however, is why the governor didn’t listen to the warnings raised by so many people or why he continues to refuse to enact the common-sense solutions we’ve proposed. It’s also not clear why Senate Democrats continue to delay the bipartisan investigation we were promised to help guide our efforts to fix lingering problems and prevent a recurrence of these critical failures.”
Lodi NJ, forget motor vehicle issues today many of the states MVC centers are closed , below is a list and we have also been informed that Lodi is also closed but we have not been able to confirm.
Oakland NJ, why go to the beech when you can spend the day at NJMVC. We know the view of the dumpster is not as impressive as the view of the Atlantic ocean , but hey no sharks . So if you have to head up to Oakland MVC we suggest you bring a picnic basket and a good book .
Oakland NJ, “Murphy and the MVC had months to prepare for this, but now towns are forced to take matters into their own hands,” said Assemblywoman Aura Dunn (R-Morris). “They should not have to bear the costs to deal with the problems Governor Murphy and the MVC created.”
Mays Landing NJ,Congressman Van Drew voiced his extreme concern with the process of reopening Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) facilities. Lines at almost every location were backed up to enormous levels, with some people waiting in line all day and still not receiving help. In some cases, law enforcement had to step in to assist in the process.
Trenton NJ, Senator Anthony M. Bucco and Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick offered a series of concrete solutions that Governor Phil Murphy could implement immediately to help remedy the chaos that has followed the Motor Vehicle Commission’s disastrous reopening.
Trenton NJ, Senator Michael Doherty released the following statement in response to the blatant failures of the Murphy administration as it neglected to adequately prepare for the reopening of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) that had been shut down since March due the COVID-19 lockdown:
River Vale NJ ,Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi commented on the fact the NJMVC workers were furloughed on the same day the NJMVC has opened ,” Another example of the frustration we feel due to nonsensical decisions being made by the administration. Almost two months ago the legislature unanimously passed a bill to furlough state employees. This legislation would have enabled the State to take advantage of matching fund and other federal incentive programs, saving the State over $500 million while many State employees were being paid their full salaries to literally sit home and do nothing.
Trenton NJ, Long lines, three-hour wait times, traffic blocking roads and highways. That’s the scene many New Jersey drivers are finding at Motor Vehicle Commission agencies across the state. Senator Bucco warned NJMVC about severe backlogs and the need for a re-opening plan two months ago, but it was ignored and the result is playing out in extremely long lines and slow service today.
