Paramus NJ, One (1) individual was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a multiple vehicle collision at the intersection of Paramus Road and West Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus on Friday afternoon, 06/24. Two (2) vehicles were towed from the scene. , Paramus Fire Department, Paramus EMS, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to aid the victim.

Fair Lawn NJ, a two alarm fire damaged a Fair Lawn residence Wednesday afternoon. The Fair Lawn Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on the three block of 32nd St. at 5:38 PM. Upon arrival, fire was found on the exterior of the building.
Paramus NJ, a residential structure in the 100 block of Prospect Street, Paramus was declared “uninhabitable” by a Borough of Paramus building inspector following an incident in which the adult male driver of a 4-door Volvo sedan lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into the home late Thursday morning, 05/26. The driver was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus for evaluation and possible treatment. A flatbed tow truck extricated the Volvo from the structure, and removed it from the scene. Paramus Police, Paramus Fire Department, Paramus Rescue Squad, and Paramus EMS personnel and equipment responded to aid the victim.
Paramus NJ, members of the Paramus Rescue Squad had to cut several roof pillars of a 4-door Toyota Camry sedan, and then peel back the roof to free an occupant following a rollover crash in the driveway of a single family home located on Gordon Drive in Paramus on Saturday morning, 05/07. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A Volvo sedan parked in the driveway was also damaged in the incident. The Camry was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Personnel and equipment from Paramus Police, Paramus Fire Department, Paramus EMS, the Paramus Rescue Squad, and a The Valley Hospital Paramedics all responded to aid the victim.
Paramus NJ, Monday morning, 04/11, a crash of a refrigerated box truck on South Farview Avenue in Paramus resulted in Paramus Police closing a section of the busy thoroughfare for hours, and Paramus firefighters being unable to respond to calls for service from nearby Fire Company #4 for a short period of time due to downed utility lines.
Paramus NJ, four (4) individuals were transported by ambulances to two (2) area hospitals following a multi-vehicle crash on Route 17 southbound in Paramus early Wednesday afternoon, 03/09. A rolled over dump truck involved in the crash spilled gravel over two (2) lanes of the busy highway, a concrete center divider was obliterated, and a crash related fluid spill triggered a response by Hazmat personnel. At least three (3) passenger vehicles were towed from the incident, which at times closed all lanes of Route 17 southbound and northbound. Paramus Police , Paramus Fire Department, Paramus EMS, and the Paramus Rescue squad all had personnel on the ground at the scene. NJDOT also responded with numerous emergency vehicles and personnel.
Paramus NJ, Paramus Police reported that three (3) persons were injured in a horrific two (2) vehicle, Monday morning, 02/21, collision on Route 4 westbound near Fairview Avenue, Paramus. A Ford pickup truck apparently rear ended a Toyota minivan, sending the minivan off of the roadway sideways into a utility pole, with one of the vehicles winding up on top of the other. A fire hydrant was also a casualty of the incident. Paramus Fire Department , Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, and Paramus Rescue Squad personnel and equipment responded to the incident. Needless to say, both vehicles were towed from the scene. The right lane on route 4 west under the Fairview Avenue overpass was closed .Traffic on Route 4 westbound was backed up for miles as a result of the crash.
Paramus NJ, Paramus Police apprehended an individual who allegedly fled from a crashed stolen vehicle on the roof of an adult day care center two (2) blocks from the southbound Route 17 crash site. The apprehension, which took place late Thursday afternoon, 01/27, followed an intensive search for the vehicle, which was reportedly stolen in Elmwood Park earlier in the day. A Paramus Fire Department tower ladder facilitated the removal of police officers and the detainee from the roof. Three (3) other occupants of the vehicle also fled the crash site, and two (2) remained at large late in the day after one (1) was nabbed by Paramus Police in the parking lot of a nearby supermarket. An unoccupied passenger car left running in a parking lot of a school near the crash site was stolen shortly after the individuals were seen fleeing. Additionally, an attempted car jacking was reported in neighboring Oradell within an hour after the incident on Route 17 unfolded. The crash on Route 17 involved six (6) vehicles; one (1) minor crash related injury was reported.
Paramus NJ, New Jersey State and Paramus Police are still looking for the driver of a motorcycle that was found wrecked and on fire on the Garden State Parkway southbound in Paramus on Monday night.
Paramus NJ, on Thursday October 28th at approximately 7:30 PM, Paramus Police and Fire Units responded to a house fire behind station 3 on Midland Avenue. Fire was knocked down quickly, but not before causing extensive damage to the 2½-story, wood-frame home.

Paramus NJ, The driver of a cement truck was seriously injured during a Monday afternoon, 08/16, rollover crash on the exit ramp from Route 4 eastbound to Route 17 northbound in Paramus. Paramus Police, Paramus Fire Department, Paramus EMS, NJDOT, NJSP, and Bergen County Hazmat personnel/units were among those who responded to the incident. Two (2) heavy duty tow trucks were required to right and remove the rolled over vehicle. The adult male driver was transported to a local hospital by a Paramus EMS ambulance. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Paramus EMTs with an medical evaluation of the victim. Leaking fluids were attended to by Bergen County Hazmat personnel and a commercial recovery/remediation contractor. Traffic on Route 4 eastbound was slowed to a crawl near the crash scene, with those drivers heading to Route 17 north forced to make a U-Turn at the next eastbound exit.
Paramus NJ, a tandem axle tanker truck carrying used motor oil flipped over on its topside on the exit ramp from Route 4 eastbound to Route 17 northbound, Paramus on Tuesday morning, 07/06. The tanker’s adult female driver was freed from the flipped vehicle by a NJDOT employee who was working adjacent to the crash site. The victim was transported by a Paramus EMS ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Paramus Police, Paramus Fire Department, NJDOT, and Bergen County Hazmat personnel also responded to the incident. The contents of the tanker were off loaded before the vehicle was righted and removed from the scene by a local tow company. The exit ramp was initially closed to traffic, then reopened, then closed again to facilitate the righting and removal of the vehicle.
