A serious accident occurred on Wednesday morning, August 28th, at the intersection of Paramus Road and West Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus, when a bicyclist was struck by a passenger vehicle. The incident left the cyclist with significant injuries and prompted a swift response from local authorities.

Paramus NJ, on the late afternoon of August 24, a dramatic head-on collision on Route 17 southbound in Paramus left a white SUV severely damaged but miraculously resulted in no injuries for the driver. The crash occurred just south of West Ridgewood Avenue, near a local appliance store.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood police officers, firefighters, and Emergency Services personnel responded to multiple storm related incidents late Tuesday afternoon, 07/25. Thankfully, no storm related injuries nor reports of significant property damage were reported. However scattered power outages were reported . A downed tree with live electric wires in the 200 block off West Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood was the one of the most serious incidents of the dozens reported via 911.

Paramus NJ, a 4-door sedan crashed head-on into a tree on West Ridgewood Avenue near Paramus Road late Wednesday morning, 07/05. Paramus Police ESU officers quickly extricated the vehicle’s lone occupant (driver), who was immediately attended to by Paramus EMS members. The victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus with the assistance of a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage. Paramus Police officers at the scene did not say what caused the driver to lose control and hit the tree head on.

Paramus NJ, Paramus Road in Paramus was closed in both directions between West Ridgewood Avenue and West Midland Avenue for an extended period on Monday, 03/27. The closure was resultant from a crash in which a pickup truck severed a utility pole across from the Paramus Food Center at approximately 0830 hours. The pickup truck’s driver was uninjured; however, his truck was totaled and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Paramus Police responded along with crews from PSE&G’s Electric Division.

Paramus NJ, One (1) individual was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a multiple vehicle collision at the intersection of Paramus Road and West Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus on Friday afternoon, 06/24. Two (2) vehicles were towed from the scene. , Paramus Fire Department, Paramus EMS, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to aid the victim.

Paramus NJ, a Honda Odyssey minivan was broadsided, and rolled over on its driver’s side during a Thursday afternoon, 05/20, multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Paramus Road and West Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus. The minivan’s driver was trapped inside of it until freed by Paramus Police Emergency Services Unit (ESU) personnel and members of the Paramus Fire Department. A Paramus EMS ambulance transported the victim, who appeared to have sustained non-life threatening injuries, to The Valley Hospital. The rolled over vehicle was righted by a specialized ESU vehicle and later removed from the scene by a tow truck. One (1) other vehicle involved in the collision was also reportedly removed by a tow.

Waldwick NJ, a Waldwick Police patrol officer observed a stolen motorcycle traveling at 130 mph on Route 17 southbound late Saturday afternoon, 04/24, and pursed the bike and its adult male operator into Paramus, where heavy highway traffic forced the operator to exit onto West Ridgewood Avenue. A successful traffic stop was then initiated, and the operator was taken into custody. A tow truck was summoned to remove the impounded motorcycle from the roadway. No injuries were reported in the incident. Paramus Police officers assisted at the arrest scene until back up Waldwick Police units arrived.

Ridgewood NJ, The exact origin of critical injuries sustained by an individual who was found lying on the street in front of 15 West Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood, remained under investigation by Ridgewood PD and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office hours after the victim was found at 7:20 PM on Monday, 09/24. The individual, said to be a male, was rushed by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson.

Paramus NJ, A Paramus EMS ambulance and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital were dispatched to aid the adult female driver of a 2-door coupe who lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a utility pole on Route 17 southbound near West Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus on Sunday morning, 05/27. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. A flatbed tow truck removed the wrecked coupe from the scene. Paramus Police investigated the incident.

Paramus NJ, A two (2) vehicle Thursday morning, 05/25, crash near the intersection of West Ridgewood Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard in Paramus injured the driver of a gold colored mini van, whose vehicle careened off of the rain slick roadway up onto the lawn of a nearby home. Paramus PD patrol officers and a Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Patrol Division K9 officer aided the victim until an ambulance arrived and transported her to The Valley Hospital. The other driver complained of back pain, but refused ambulance transport. Both heavily damaged vehicles were removed from the scene by separate flatbed tow trucks.
