Survey Finds New Jerseyans Show Highest Levels of Resistance to Return to the Office Post COVID

Ridgewood NJ, the COVID-19 pandemic changed the dynamics of workplaces around the globe. The adaptation to remote work has also been advantageous for many employees. Parents have found it easier to balance familial responsibilities, and others have invested in home office setups or relocated further from their workplaces. However, for the past three years, tens of millions of office workers have navigated through an ever-evolving landscape of working from home and intermittent attempts to return to the office. However, a recent survey conducted by Authority Hacker throws light on employees’ perspectives on returning to the office, showing that the majority are reluctant to give up the flexibility they have grown accustomed to.

WeWork Warns of Possible Bankruptcy

Ridgewood NJ, WeWork could be the next victim of the post COVID remote work phenomenon. WeWork has told the SEC that its losses and negative cash flow may result in bankruptcy. The company is heavy on debt and struggling to generate cash despite the number of large commercial buildings around the world that have its name on them. WeWork will need to improve its liquidity position and profitability or consider alternatives. The company’s stock now has a market cap of below $500 million. It was once valued by SoftBank at $40 billion.

Ridgewood NJ, The Federal Highway Administration approved the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s plan to add a controversial toll (congestion pricing) around Manhattan’s central business district. A group of Congress members from New Jersey both Democrats and Republicans – called on New York Governor Kathy Hochul to cancel the plan, saying that it will “impose significant new costs” on New Jersey commuters and families. The signees included Reps. Thomas Kean Jr., Frank Pallone Jr., Bill Pascrell Jr., Donald Payne Jr., Mikie Sherrill, Jeff Van Drew and Bonnie Watson Coleman.

Apple Employee Group Claims Compelling Reasons Why many Employees should be able to Continue to Work from Home

The group is collecting signatures for a petition that claims Apple’s mandate ignores compelling reasons for why many employees should be able to continue to work from home.
