Ridgewood NJ, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, the Ridgewood Varsity Boys Football team secured a thrilling victory against Montclair High School with a score of 30-24 in overtime. Despite the rainy weather, the Maroons orchestrated a remarkable comeback. Turnovers played a pivotal role in the game, as Montclair’s errors, including key interceptions and fumble recoveries, allowed the Maroons to regain momentum, thwart Montclair’s drives, and ultimately seal their opponent’s fate. It was a remarkable display of resilience and strategic play that led to Ridgewood’s well-earned triumph.

Ridgewood NJ, on 9/8, the Ridgewood football team dropped their home opener in a non-conference game against Clifton (NJ) by a score of 28-21. After about a 90-minute thunderstorm delay the game finally kicked off a little before 8:00. With Clifton leading in the final quarter a late interception shuts down the maroons drive.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Crew saw five of its 14 sculling boats make the finals and three boats finish in the top three at the 139th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta at St. Catharines, Ontario from August 6 – 13. The Henley, held annually in Martindale Pond next to Lake Ontario, is one of the most prestigious crew events in the world and, this year, featured nearly 2,000 entries from 120 clubs across seven countries and four continents.

Ridgewood NJ, Long-range facilities plan – the district applied for a ROD grant (Regular Operating District Grants) for the work being done on the Ridgewood High School roof. However, we will not hear if the grant is awarded until the fall, therefore, we are asking the Ridgewood BOE to approve the work being done on the roof as an emergency to ensure that we can still qualify for the grant if awarded.

Ridgewood NJ, The New Jersey Lacrosse Foundation has chosen RHS Graduate and Coach Jim Montegari and Ridgewood’s Lindsey Devir to receive their annual NJ Lacrosse Girls High School Honor Awards. They will be recognized alongside the NJ Lacrosse Hall of Fame induction ceremony later this month.

Ridgewood NJ, more than 100,000 Latin students worldwide take the National Latin Exam and of those, only 1% achieve a perfect score. Sophomores Brian Chun and Patrick Callen, pictured here with Principal Jeff Nyhuis and Latin teachers Amy Mason and Stefanie Gigante, received a perfect score for the Intermediate Latin Reading Comprehension.
