Ridgewood NJ, according to Ridgewood school officials three swastikas were found in a bathroom at Ridgewood High School.
According to Ridgewood Police Department, building maintenance employees identified three swastikas that were rubbed on a surface in a bathroom stall on October 18th The surface has been cleaned and there was no permanent damage.

Ridgewood NJ, LAN associates estimate for replacing cubbies like the one in this image in elementary school classrooms is 250$per linear feet plus 13.5% in their fee to design and oversee the work.
Question: Can the schools be creative in this and allocate this 250$ per linear feet as budget and allow the class teacher and HSA to pick the furniture for their classrooms instead of letting the architect do it?
EDIT: not just for cost savings, but also for creativity.

Glen Rock NJ, This morning I learned that on Halloween, sometime between 6AM-5PM, the beautiful bench on the Dunham Trail, paid for by neighbors and friends, was smashed to pieces and ripped off its concrete pad. The wood was smashed and thrown all around. It was a lot of work, so it took time and effort. The police were notified on Thursday.

Ridgewood NJ, Late Thursday evening, 10/31, a family residing in the 600 block of Newcomb Road, Ridgewood was unloading groceries from their minivan when an unfamiliar large German Shepherd dog jumped through an open sliding door of the van and sat down on the back seat. The family ran into their home and telephoned Ridgewood Police for assistance.

Ridgewood NJ, the question came up on some Facebook pages , and while we are glad to see the streets getting paved , who thought scheduling paving on Halloween was a good idea?
LAN Associates provided a document yesterday at the tour of Somerville school, which estimated the projected cost of the referendum FOR Somerville school to be $6,180,410.
This cost is estimated to the last dollar amount, and then during the tour, he mentioned that he is not yet certain which boiler is he going to recommend for Somerville (i.e. standard efficiency or high efficiency). How did LAN arrive at a dollar amount, without those details?

Ridgewood NJ, Resident Saurabh Dani posted the following on the Facebook page, “It Takes a Ridgewood Village”, reminding the Ridgewood blog that many years ago (2006?) the BOE was dead set on adding fiberoptic connections through Verizon when clearly the technology existed for broadband wifi connections though out the Ridgewood School system. The better technology was rebuffed for the “done deal” with Verizon.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood blog has picked up chatter that the 2014 plan for a 90-foot baseball field was still on at Schedler.
According to Mayor Ramon Hach the plan for 90-foot baseball diamond was discarded in 2016. The Village Council decided to move forward with a new design that was proposed by the Schedler Ad hoc Committee in 2017. The new design includes a protective berm, a playground, a walking path, 44 parking spaces, restrooms and a 75×50 yard multi-purpose which will take up about 1/4 the space of a full-size baseball field. Ridgewood NJ, on Monday at the Chestnut street Municipal parking lot in Ridgewood’s central business district, Ridgewood Fire Fighters and Police were summoned to what appeared to be a chemical spill of some kind. While the exact nature of the spill remains unknown cooking oil appears to be the culprit.
