We are pleased to announce that we are hosting an “An Evening with Dianne Grossman” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23. This event has been generously sponsored by the Village of Ridgewood Fire Department.
Earlier that day, Dianne Grossman, founder of Mallory’s Army®, will be providing two student assemblies for 7th and 8th grade students at Benjamin Franklin Middle School and George Washington Middle School. Dianne has presented in neighboring districts and across the state. “I wish wish wish Ridgewood would be honest about the leaves. I know of some towns in some states that charge for picking up leaves. You call the town and they come and pick up your leaves after you put them out on the curb/street. Nominal fee. They come right away and all is efficient and clean.
Ridgewood NJ, A notice (attached) was delivered earlier this week to neighbors of two large properties on which two beautiful old homes (built-in 1898 and 1902) are located stating that they wanted permission to raze both houses, combine the properties, and build eight houses on a newly carved cul-de-sac.
Ridgewood NJ, This explains why two (2) Ridgewood Village Council members were investigated by the NJ Election Law Enforcement Commission. I received this via e-mail from a source who wishes to remain anonymous.

“Here come the whiners. Just read the G*d damn card and check the Village website to see when you should but your leaves OUT. They will be picked up sometime AFTER those dates. If you feel you must, snap a quick picture of your street leaf pile with your camera phone. That way if you get a ticket, you can show proof that you didnt’t put out leaves after pick up. You can send your photo to Susan who will refer it to the Village Manager to be taken care of, if possible.
Or better yet, do what I do, bring them to the recycling center. I’m 60 years old and have 1/2 acres with tons of trees and I manage it by myself.
I’ve been here 30+ years and I’ve NEVER had a problem with leaf pick-up. NEVER. And it never ceases to amaze me that we have a fairly educated adult population but they seemingly cannot read (at least not when it’s inconvenient for them.”
Ridgewood NJ, according to a reader, ” the RBSA fee gouges, lies on tax returns and steals from a charity registered with the IRS dedicated to Youth Athletics…. They need to be investigated!!!! “
” It’s true that this is the first year that Racefaster have not renewed with the guild, so you do the math on the guilds motivation. Tony certainly comes off as a hyprocrite, telling the guys at Racefaster that he “has no problem with it”, while doing everything in his power to shut it down. Is it sour grapes? Tony has been trying to sell his business for years and although Racefaster is bright, at least it’s new and clean versus the eyesore of Tony’s dilapidated store . Like it or hate it, Racefaster is trying to do their best in a struggling town. They have three mall locations so they certainly can pull up stakes if they choose to, but they don’t. Their loyalty to the town is written all over their store – literally everything in their stores are named after streets and in Ridgewood. They employ several ridgewood residents and they support many local events in town. The same people complaining about the orange store will complain about the empty store fronts, and complain about the developments, and complain about the garage, and complain about the taxes and on and on. “
Ridgewood NJ, as many residents have already heard it is being reported that Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache did not correctly report or handle thousands of dollars he raised while running for a seat on the Ridgewood Village Council in 2016, New Jersey ‘s campaign finance watchdog alleged in a complaint. Ridgewood NJ, its that time of year again, the panic has already begone to set in the annual leave pick up begins October 28th. This years leaf season begins October 28th and ends December 20th. Leaves must be placed curbside only on the dates listed in your area.
The key ingredients of the season are an overabundance of leaves, uncooperative weather, overworked and under-loved Ridgewood crews and of coarse enough summonses issued to make your head spin.
You may continue to bring leaves as well as brush to the Recycling Center. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Leaves can also be placed in paper biodegradable bags. Bags are available at the Recycling Center on a first-come, first-serve basis. When using bags please place them on the curb area and they will be collected separately.
As the weather is a key component to this operation if changes become necessary it will be posted on the Village of Ridgewood website.
